No Excuses
Haven't posted in 3 months due to my wife being hospitalized and in critical condition but after following the Vikes since 1965 and hoping that they would improve upon last years performance, I see no excuses for the Vikes performance this year and particular yesterdays piss poor performance ...

Re: How many wins this season?
I agree....in fact I'll add the D-line to that equation. Success or failure will be greatly, not solely, determined by how consistent both of these lines can dictate and\or dominate the other side of the ball. Is the O-line over rated? Can the D-line live up to expectations? My guess is that the O ...

Re: Who Are Your Top Ten Greatest Vikings (Players Only)?
Moss was so talented and exciting that I wouldn't argue with anybody including him on their "Greatest Vikings" list, whether he was at #11 or higher. However, I have "Moss issues" and wouldn't even place him in my top 15 greatest Vikings. Despite his obvious talent and all the great plays he made ...

Re: Who Are Your Top Ten Greatest Vikings (Players Only)?
Here's my list:
1.) Alan Page: Perhaps the best player to ever don a Vikings uniform and a notable presence on the best teams in Vikes history.
2.) Fran Tarkenton: The greatest QB in Vikings history. Fran's first pro game was the Vikings first pro game and he spent the majority of his career ...

Re: Adrian Peterson
What? He's probably the greatest, or top 3, runner of all time. He's pathetic as a blocker, many times letting his guy go through unblocked, and not a very good receiver.
My god, I know some people think he's a mixture Adonis, Jerry Rice, Hercules, Jim Brown. But he's not.
:wallbang: is right ...

Adrian Peterson
Although I as well as countless Viking fans are thrilled with AD's rushing performance over his career, would the Vikings be wise to use him a little more as a receiver out of the backfield on screens, slants, etc. so as to utilize his speed and athleticism as well as to possibly increase this ...

How in God's name would anyone know he has improved or not when we haven't played a pre-season or regular season game yet!!!

Re: Ponder vs. Cassell
I've read many posts on this site as well as others regarding Ponder and Cassell and I'm quite angry at all the negativeism hurled at both our QB's. Ponder and Cassell may not be Brees, Manning or Rodgers BUT they are our QB's and we as Viking fans should support them as much as possible. Knocking ...

Re: Christian Ponder
In Ponder's first full season as starter, he played well. He did the one thing you would hope would happen. He improved at the point in the season in which it was critical. That tells you much about him. The skills and the athleticism are there. He is an extremely smart young man. . I look for ...

Re: Fran Tarkenton On Deacon Jones
I've seen Deacon Jones do a lot of that sort of tough talking in NFL Films clips, interviews, etc. over the years. He seemed to revel in it. However, I don't remember him being a dirty player. He was an aggressive player, always looking to deliver a hard hit but I never got the impression he ...

Re: The Webb experiment is finally over!
Going with 4 or 5 WRs isn't getting creative, it's just lining up with a different personnel formation. There's nothing inherently creative about that.
A 4 WR, single back set either puts Rudolph on the sidelines or moves him outside and matches him up against a DB rather than an LB (not ...

Re: WR Cordarrelle Patterson
IMO this guy is going to make us forget about Harvin. He may be a bit rough around the edges but he has a great attitude and unbelievable moves for a guy 6'2" and 220 lbs.
Hopefully he won't have migrains and attitude problems down the line. I've seen him play in person and he is quite dynamic as ...

Re: Is there any player with more pressure than Ponder?
Of course there is a tremendous amount of pressure on Ponder. He's the QB and that's the nature of the beast. Time to sink or swim!!
