What draft prospects have we shown interest in?

Everybody loves Tristan Wirfs. He may well end up the first non-QB drafted other than Chase Young.

Lots of speculation on the draft order of the top four OTs. If somehow Wirfs falls past 10 he is very interesting to trade up for. I actually want him for guard more than Tackle. he can be a very good tackle or he can be the second coming of Randall McDaniel at guard.

Actually, most scouting reports project him as a RT or a guard. So you're on the right track.

He was originally projected as top-15 and behind Becton from Louisville. But that combine ... teams are gonna fall in love with a 320-pound man running 4.86 and vertical-jumping 36.5 inches. By comparison, Dalvin Cook had a 30.5 inch vertical and ran 4.49. His vertical was better than both Jerry Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb. I mean, can you imagine Wirfs as a pulling guard on running plays? And it doesn't hurt that Wirfs played at Iowa, which has produced more quality NFL offensive linemen than I can count.

Even though Wirfs does not project as a LT, I really think he could be the first non-QB offensive player chosen. Top-5 possibly.

Old Farts like me remember when the Vikings drafted McDaniel and him dunking a basketball or was in a football in full football pads. He was the original extremely athletic guard. I see Wirfs like that.

McClellen can think of two instances in which McDaniel amazed him. He once saw McDaniel pick up a 100-pound weight plate with one hand. And he also saw McDaniel, walking through the recreational gym in full football gear--shoulder pads, helmet and all--stop, pick up a basketball and, from a standing start, jump up and do a 360-degree turn on a slam dunk.

Yeah Wirfs could very well go to the giants at 4. It’s getting so hard to predict right now and you know there will be at least a few wrenches thrown in. Someone is going to go way earlier than expected, some guys are going to fall, some teams are going to trade up out of nowhere

If Wirfs falls to the 10-12 range I’d be all for trading up. However that area is where the projected WR run is going to go. The jets at 11, raiders at 12 and 49ers at 13. Lamb, Jeudy and Ruggs could very well be gone right there. That’s when I would jump all over Tampa at 14 to trade up for Wirfs if he was there but my guess is Tampa wouldn’t be trading out and they would select Wirfs given Brady is a glass statue at this point in his career.

And I have a hard time seeing the jets, raiders or 49ers trading out of their picks though given how desperate they are for a WR and given the big 3 should be sitting there for them

Our hope for him to fall to a feasible trade spot is first the Giants take Simmons and then other teams don't see him as a left tackle so they take the other guys.

On draft day we'll know what to do
with our pick at 22
after that don't even frown
when we trade that next pick down.

in drafting early wide receivers
