I apologize for that and will not continue to post about the issue.
But I must add , to a few of the members that posted, please do not include me in the group that you feel are displaying a racist point of view on the Kapernick situation. I never in my post brought up race. I have great friends of different skin colors. I dont care if a person's skin is green. I see a person for who they are and what kind of human being they are. From a very young age my parents instilled in me that we are all equal regardless of our race. So my views had NOTHING to do with the color of Kapernicks skin. Period.
I will apologize for posting a political view when the rules prohibit it. That is on me.
But, I will ask that if someone may have agreed with something I said, and then used negative comments about race or called him a POS or anything derogatory, please don't try and include me in that. I'm not that way, and will emphatically fight the perception that I am.
I just wanted to clear that up.
Now all i can say is how about that win today?
During the Civil Rights era, there were plenty of non Blacks that believed that Blacks should be treated equally. Plenty of those people did nothing to aid. It's not enough to believe everyone is equal. Do you support candidates that hold those views, do you take action to ensure that everyone is equal based on race, and do you call out inequality when you see it. I dont know where you get your news and what spin on this story you have received but you venom for this guy is unwarranted and you should do some self inflection.
Yes as a matter of fact I do. I was very instrumental in helping a black women get her job back when she fired at my place of employment. I stood up for her, did alot of digging and was the person who discovered some documents and work process forms that were altered by a supervisor, who is a blatant racist, to falsely support his decision to let her go. His daughter in law worked there and worked with this women, and she didn't like her , so she and her racist father in law basically conspired and found a way to fabricate evidence to terminate her for poor work performance. Myself and another person knew it was B.S. and figured it out. I'm happy to say that she was rehired, recieved all of her lost time back pay and now has moved into a supervision position herself, and just hit her 10 tear anniversary with the company. I wasn't very popular for a while cuz I was the Uncle Tom who got her job back.
I also am very active in the Big Brothers program, which by the way, was started by the the man who started the worldwide Corporation where my wife has worked for over 30 years. He passed away a few months ago, and his story is that of a phenomenal man who built a successful corporation and used his resources to help those less fortunate in life.
I have had the honor and the heartbreak of working with and spending countless hours with inner city kids , and unfortunately the majority of them have been children of color, who are being raised in terrible environments, most of the time without any father figure. It's a very gratifying experience to have a young man come back on his first visit back home after joining the military and calling me to have dinner together and share his new life and his aspirations. Or to have sit in the stands and watch a kid that you spent alot of time with play in the division H.S. basketball playoffs. The same kid who was headed for alot of trouble, but a few of us men spewing venom felt the need to try and step in and help. There are many other examples, such as my volunteer work with the Special Olympics, and a local ministry for prison inmates every Christmas , where we will be delivering food and presents to the families of men who are incarcerated, so they will have a nice holiday meal and presents to open up on Christmas morning. I've left so many of these situations and drove home bawling my eyes out due to the things I've seen, and the way these children are being raised. Heartbreaking doesn't come close to describing it.
I am not trying to toot my horn. I don't feel the need to announce my yearly salary, nor my educational success, to try and prove my superiority over other posters because of their views.
I just tried to distance myself from the racial view that others were presenting. Then suddenly you came here telling me that I need that I need to do some self inflection, when you have no idea of the real.person I am and the community service programs that I feel honored to be a part of.
By the way, I do have a little insight into alot of the stuff that went on behind the scenes in the NFL climate , and the feelings that alot of the players had about the whole kneeling scenario. I heard it straight from 3 very successful players while I was spending an evening with them after a day of a yearly summer youth football camp put on by a
now retired player from our local H.S. In their opinion Kapernick had ALOT more players who were critics of the way he was handling the situation as it continued on than he did supporters.
I never once in my post called him any vile names . I didnt bring his race I to it. I stated the reason why I didn't support him.
I didn't feel the need to come on here and try and flaunt my success, and accuse someone of spewing venom.
Maybe you need to step back , think about how you view your self importance, and also do a little self inflection yourself.
I will, and maybe do a little more research, and try and see if I am missing something in Kaps stance that may make me see it differently.
Maybe if we sat down and talked face to face and both saw the things each of us do to try and make this world better we may find alot of common ground.
But don't judge me when you only took a few paragraphs on my beliefs on 1 topic.
I will try and do the same with you also.
With that said, i hope you may see that i also want this world to be a better place. I hope to see grandkids before I die. And I want them to live in a better, more peaceful and tolerant world than we do now. I believe you must want the same. So I'm good with saying Peace. No more back n forth. Try and understand each other and leave it at that.
Go back to football and Vikings success. It's cool with me . Hope it is for you.
