Re: Options at QB
But the 36 year old stop gap has a lot of experience and big game experience. I think if he comes in and unear stands that he doesn't need to be the focal point of the offense he could be good fill in.

Re: Options at QB
With 10 TD passes in his last 12 games and career 56% completion, Vick would be the perfect person if you want to make Teddy look better than has been. For actually improving our offense and playoff chances, not so good. Not so good at all.Norv Zimmer wrote:But the 36 year old stop gap has a lot of experience and big game experience. Not to mention his other issues.

Re: Options at QB
i'd rather have Kaep than vick. vick can't throw and isn't mobile anymore. If Kaep can get over his offseason surgeries and can come close to his 2012-2014 form then imo our offense wouldn't miss a beat. Remember he led the 49ers down the field late in the super bowl, and lost a very close game on the road the following year in seattle for the conf. championship. those two 49er teams had very good defenses and running games, but i'd argue that our d and running game is better.

But there's no evidence to suggest he's regained his 2012 form, is there? That seems like hoping Favre can come back and regain his 2009 form, but its more likely you'd get his 2010 form.slapnut19 wrote:i'd rather have Kaep than vick. vick can't throw and isn't mobile anymore. True but i would trust Kaep to get back to his form more than any of the other options doing more than what they are doing.Purple Martin wrote: But there's no evidence to suggest he's regained his 2012 form, is there? Re: Options at QB
It was fun watching Kaepernick run all over that Packers D in the playoffs, but I'm not so sure he is capable physically of that kind of performance anymore. Hes had injuries since then and doesn't look to be in as good of shape. I also don't think he's mentally capable of picking up our offense quick enough. It would limit us too much in what we could do. It would be similar to the Josh Freeman experiment from a few years ago.
Re: Options at QB
that's why i said if and come close. i'm sure will be plenty of snaps vs the chargers tonight. let's see how he looksPurple Martin wrote: But there's no evidence to suggest he's regained his 2012 form, is there? Re: Options at QB
the question isn't about his ability, the question is why would you want a washed up racist as your qb? people used to say moss was selfish, well what he is doing is the most selfish act i've ever seen.

Really? Most selfish thing you've ever seen? Even in the NFL this is has to come in about 300th on the list of most selfish things, let alone in the wider world where it wouldn't even make the top 10,000.mosscarter wrote:the question isn't about his ability, the question is why would you want a washed up racist as your qb? people used to say moss was selfish, well what he is doing is the most selfish act i've ever seen.

Re: Options at QB
Any rumors yet? I got to believe Spielman is developing a strategy and being somewhat patient with the process so they don't get this wrong, but at some point, he'll have to work the phones and get someone of quality to Minnesota. The options that will get cut this Saturday won't do it.

Re: Options at QB
I think they should bring in two QBs. Hill, Vick(?) and ........?
Stave is of no use at all. Cut Sorenson and Stave once the 4th game is over and sign whoever the chiefs cut (or trade for Murray/Foles). Then once Heinecke is ready to come off the NFI list, drop whatever QB is of the least use. Hill will likely be injured by then anyway, and Heinecke can take over as the QB who at least knows the system.

I would be fine with that, the question of do we have cap space would come into play though I think.
