He had a long catch a couple plays before but watch Wright come off the snap and instead of tearing #### across the field he looks like he's in quick sand. I think Teddy saying the man coverage threw the play off might just be a way of not directly blaming anyone, I just don't see anything that the man coverage would have made any difference. Especially since ARI plays a LOT of man coverage with P.Peterson shadowing the top WR, I just don't get why they'd bank on them playing zone.
Maybe due to the situation (ie: to guard against a shot to the end zone)? You me my be correct: Wright may have been gassed and Bridgewater was being gracious.
If you do find that play against the Jets it would be nice to know who they go to, I believe Wright was the main option on the play but couldn't execute it well enough. They probably should have put Patterson or CJ in there, someone fresh.

At 1:10? With Jennings on the crossing route? Assuming that's what he's talking about.
Either way, stupid play call. Even Zimmer second guessed it. All I could think watching that final drive was protect the ball, kick the FG. And then Norv does that.

The play you mentioned was similar in that it was called with very little time left in the game, but I think the play with the same routes was actually the play before that one in the clip - where Wright catches the ball in traffic. That one looks like all the WRs start on the left and cross over to the right and then the RB sneaks out by the sideline on the right side. If that's truly the same play, then Norv calling it successful in the past is complete crap. Teddy almost gets sacked on this one, too, and barely escapes to throw a near pick that gets tackled in bounds.
The Jennings completion near the end of that game was successful but super risky and also a stupid play call as you mention. It just takes one shoelace tackle or one defender cheating on the crossing route for us to get tackled in bounds. It may also be the same play as the AZ game but then it was inverted and had a couple different routes (with the RB staying in to pass protect).
