Thats how I see it. I wanna see Ponder play like he did in the second half for the next few games though and for the D to not take me through so many roller coaster rides.

Well he had better pick it up. Because I am watching the Seattle San Fran Game and from what it looks like, Ponder is in big trouble on Nov 17 unless he does something to improve.

One fan has taken Christian Ponder bashing to the White House

Christian Ponder played better Sunday, but that hasn't eliminated the calls for his starting job. This particular call, however, seems a bit over the top.

A Vikings fan from St. Paul apparently has petitioned President Barack Obama to have Ponder removed by executive order as the Vikings starting quarterback, according to Brian Hall of Foxsportsnorth.com.

The petition reads: "Minnesota Vikings fans have had enough and it's time for President Obama to do something about it! We as a state have stood loyally by our team and democratic principles only to suffer the atrocities of the 1998 NFC Champion game, the 2009 NFC Championship game and four years of Jesse Ventura. Mr. President, how long will you stand idly by as we suffer under the regime of Bill Musgrave and his inept offensive play calling abilities. Alas, Mr. President let our voices be heard."

Minnesota Vikings: In 2012, Christian Ponder had just 269 passing yards from deep passes, which was second-lowest in the league. In 2013 he already has 151 passing yards on deep passes, which is fourth in the league.

I thought Cassel might do some good things in Kansas City after that spark he had in New England. I went to grad school in Kansas City and had to watch Cassel for 2 years there. He really doesn't have any moxie or any spark. When he was leading the Chiefs offense it was even less exciting than our current offense.

Alex Smith has won the same amount of games with that team in 2 weeks than Cassel did in 16 last year.

Great point. Again I would say that if Cassel is the better quarterback then by all means I want him or anyone else to be the starter AFTER Ponder finishes this second complete year or totally falls on his face. You don't call helping turn a 2-14 team into a 10-4 playoff team a good thing? It must have been a little exciting being in the playoffs I would think.

As far as the Chiefs being 2-0. Yes it's Smith, but it's also then new coaching staff.

I'm not calling Matt the next messiah. I just think he's better than what we got now.

Cassel's Chiefs ended up with a 2-14 record his last year there with several Pro Bowl players on the squad to include Dwane Bowe. So I guess things completed a full circle. No one was beating the door down or ringing his phone off the hook to sign him before the Vikings did. I will tell you one thing, this current offensive line would get Cassel killed, he is not very agile and is a pocket passer. Well guess what, sadly there is seldom a pocket to pass from.

Like Obama would do anything, he's a Bears fan lol. He's glad we have Ponder. He might issue an executive order saying we can't bench Ponder.

While I agree Ponder played better in the 2nd half, I don't think it should give him a longer leash. Playing a good half of football every 4th game isn't going to cut it. If he does well against Cleveland (which he should) and Pittsburgh, then his leash can be extended. And by well I don't mean by Ponder standards, I mean by NFL standards. Despite playing good in the 2nd half, we had no TD drives and we had the Bears on the ropes. So he failed to deliver a knockout punch and we ended up losing by 1.

Thanks for posting that. They're definitely pushing the ball down the field more in the passing game. I saw more chemistry between Ponder and Jennings on Sunday too. Hopefully, the changes they've made on offense are going to start paying bigger and bigger dividends.

I'm not a Ponder guy by any stretch, I see a forgettable career.

But the offensive coaching has done him no favors. Not one thing to slow the opposing defensive line, just straight dropbacks and rollouts, No screens, draws, mis direction plays. They are inviting the defensive line into their backfield, and the blocking has not been able to slow it down.

One problem too, we are stuck with the same crap we had with Childress, no trust in QBs to call audibles, I like Frazier, but this is really looking like Childress 2.0.

He's been just good enough to not get benched, but not nearly good enough to make you think he's taking this team anywhere. He's just too inconsistent. He's too worried about the rush and won't keep his focus downfield. He's way too erratic with his throws. I'm ready to be done with him now. Cassell may be more of the same but at least he has had some success in the NFL. Just not in his most recent season as a starter. Ponder is another T-Jack. A QB that should have never been taken where he was and no matter how many chances you give him trying to justify the pick, he's NEVER going to be a good NFL QB.

and every time he IS bad enough long enough TO get benched, he steps up and plays average, making believers think that the light bulb finally turned on and he "gets it". I wish it were true; I had high hopes for him but see no reason to endure another full tryout season. I didn't see Cassel's early preseason appearances, but I did see his last. It was only three throws but he looked very sharp and capable. If Ponder is so fragile he can't take being benched for a game or a half he has no business in the NFL. Sure give him a chance but when he sucks for 3 quarters-for the 25th time- give someone else a chance too.
