Udder madness, I say.....
Re: Suh Fined 100,000
Corey Fuller was definitely up there. Remember the eye poke?tnvikesfan wrote:Sheesh, the only groin punch I remember seeing as an intentional hit perpetrated by a Viking was back in the day with Duane Clements. He racked the fire out of someone. Dirty? Hayelle Yes! Did I approve? No. If it weren't for the camera angle, it would probably never have been seen on national TV, refs didn't see it, no flags. I think he got a good fine out of it though.
The Vikes have had many hard hitters, but we've never had a really dirty player like Suh. Big difference.
Re: Suh Fined 100,000
All I was hoping to get was for you all to own up to JA's behavior if you're going to jump on Suh. I guess I got that... sorta partially... but it's like pulling teeth because you keep trying to compare Suh to JA and then think I'm crazy for comparing the two, when I'm not comparing the two. I'm just saying look at your own guy. Nowhere have I defended Suh or said that the two are on equal footing in this discussion.
It's very similar to something Charles Woodson did that bugged the hell out of me. On MNF he punches a dude after the play. Just punches him. Unacceptable and should've been ejected. And then that same year Suh has his stomp incident, and guess who speaks up about it from GB? That's right, it was class-act Charles Woodson.
So yeah kinda bothers me that everyone does their witch hunt stuff with Suh and forgets that their own guys are not exactly perfect.

Re: Suh Fined 100,000
By why do I have to look at Allen (or any other Viking) at all? The fact that we are discussing what Suh did on Sunday and even mentioning Allen (and now Woodson) is not relevant. I'm still unclear as to how those prior acts by others mitigate Suh's actions at all. I realize you are not comparing them against one another, but can I assume if we had a team full of players that always obeyed the rules, that would somehow make Suh's action(s) worse? It doesn't. Suh's actions are wrong and Karma will eventually catch up to him.Iron Lion wrote: I'm just saying look at your own guy. witch-hunt also witch hunt
n.
An investigation carried out ostensibly to uncover subversive activities but actually used to harass and undermine those with differing views.
I disagree with the term witch-hunt (and I assume you mean it to be used within the context of "trumping up" allegations against Suh, rather than the classical definition (above)). A witch-hunt implies there is little or no "substance" to the allegations. In Suh's case there is plenty of "substance." This is true weather or not Jared Allen is 10X worse the Suh or only 1/2 as bad. It is irrelevant...

Re: Suh Fined 100,000
If you were just talking about LAST GAME then I would be an idiot for bringing this up.
But that's not what happens and you know it.
When Suh does something, his whole career gets rehashed. It just does. Why do I have to explain this?

Re: Suh Fined 100,000
Are you suggesting past history should not be taken into account? There's a reason Suh got fined so much and a reason that he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt anymore.Iron Lion wrote:If you were just talking about LAST GAME then I would be an idiot for bringing this up.

Thank you.maembe wrote: Are you suggesting past history should not be taken into account? There's a reason Suh got fined so much and a reason that he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt anymore.
This is also why a single event (while still wrong) doesn't compare with the litany of acts Suh has committed. If it's relevant, then it's all relevant and Suh loses just on frequency of these acts. If we can't bring up the past, then Allen's actions of 2 years ago can't be brought up either. Pick your poison...

The conditional "if" fails.

Because you say so?Iron Lion wrote:

Look, I'm being logical in my argument. If you elect to present the situation as: "Because I said so" then I guess our discussion has come to a conclusion. If you'd care to elaborate on how my logic is faulty, I'd be glad to discuss further, otherwise we'll just leave it that we won't see "eye-to-eye" on this.

Re: Suh Fined 100,000
I'll go ahead and say that the only reason Suh got such a fine was due to his past.
Everything about this latest transgression is very mild for him. He didn't try to deny it, he apologized to Sullivan and his own teammates. It's shame he got such a big fine for something that was similar to what Looney did to KWill and far less damaging, while Looney got nothing.
But Suh has no one but himself to blame for his rep as a dirty player and how people feel about him. He's been branded, for better or worse.

No. The conditional "if" failed because you guys are bringing up the past... re-read.Just Me wrote: Because you say so?

Re: Suh Fined 100,000
I'm sorry, but a guy who literally has a history of being dirty would not play on a team that I coached. No matter how much talent you have. JA? LOL Comparing the two or rather, even calling us Vikes fan's out for it saying that he's a dirty player? Are you even paying attention to how often Suh actually does something that is with hostile intent, purposefully and then gets caught? Now compare that to the one little nut punch JA did. It's a joke that you'd even bring that up.Iron Lion wrote:All I was hoping to get was for you all to own up to JA's behavior if you're going to jump on Suh. Anyway. Really though Suh should not be playing in the NFL, in my personal opinion, at all for his constant Cheap Shots at opposing players.
If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?

^ LOL
#1 among DTs in sacks and tackles for loss since he came into the league. You're just jelly that he's not on your team.
As much as I hate JA, all would be forgiven if he wore my team's colors. Looks like you can't admit the same even though we both know it's true.
You ain't no coach. The NFL is about talent. You wouldn't coach the most talented player in the NFL at his position lolpls.
I've said many times I'm not comparing the two OMFG. Just saying that JA ain't no saint and it's in one horn out the other with you all. I've admitted many times that Suh is dirty, still glad he's on my team because why the hell would you not want a defensive lineman that's hellbent on killing the other team's QB? Just looking for some admission from you all that JA is dirty, to a lesser degree, because he's admitted punching a dude in the balls. Asking too damn much apparently.

That was a kick by Brian Robison.Iron Lion wrote:I don't understand... you guys of all people hating on Suh for being dirty. And then you love Jared Allen, the guy who punches dudes in the balls.
Anyhow...
Suh=Repeated, pre-meditated acts from pre-season on. Consistently voted the dirtiest player in the league by coaches, players and fans alike.
Allen=Might have punched his friend in the dick as a joke 2 years ago?
That is comparable how?
