Nope. Both teams had to deal with the same heat. This years Twins, just arent any good, in any weather.

I think Scott Baker did a huge disservice to the team by wussing out again, and/or not telling anyone his arm was hurting. As soon as he was pulled from the game a few weeks ago, I knew he would go to the DL. Be a man for God's sake.

While that may be true, Baker is not the only shortcoming the Twins have. They have struggled as a team, consistently. The only exception I would say is Cuddy.

Possible season-saving win last night. I hope they can ride that momentum to a split with CLE and have some success against Detroilet!!

I am really liking Mauer at 1st. I think it is a great move. Butera is very good behind the plate, and although his offense isn't great, I think it could improve if he knew he was going to be the starting catcher full time.
I also think the Twins should trade Morneau. He isn't healthy often, and if you look at the last 3-4 years, the Twins record with him is exponentially better than without huim, for some reason (you can't argue with results). Maybe send Morneau, Slowey, Young, and a prospect to Seattle for King Felix, or some type of similar deal with another team. Heck, throw Liriano in and they could get a good reliever in the deal too.

I agree, Morneau should be traded, but I doubt he will be. Isnt Morneau in the last season of his contract?? If so dont the Twins need to trade him prior to the trade deadline to avoid him becoming a FA? Young and Slowey, they can go too. Lariano, Id like to keep. Without him, we have all contact pitchers, not that Lariano is an ace or anything, but we need a little variety in the rotation IMO.

As far as Mauer at 1st, I hope they keep him there, his bat has woken up, and far less chance for the dredded "leg soreness".

Ah, maybe Lariano can be traded. Man, he is a head case and sooooooo inconsistent. And Delmon Young is the opposite of clutch. Stick a fork in the Twins, their season is OVER. They'll finish 3rd or worse in the division.

Idk, the Central is so weak. Detroit doesn't scare me at all.
I would like to see a reliever and a started acquired before July 31, just to see what happens.
I was reading where someone suggested putting Slowey in the rotation and putting Duensing in the bullpen. Duensing was good for awhile, but he seems to be struggling latly. I think I would be ok with this. Slowey is an ####, but last season he was our best starter before getting injured. In fact, there was talk of him going to the All-Star game, if I'm not mistaken.

Yea, the central is weak. Who cares. Even IF the Twins win the central on some fluke, anyone think they'll do anything more than one and done??? I dont. I look forward to the time the Twins are MLB competitive, NOT just AL Central semi competitive. Under Guardy, Im not holding my breath. He has his strenghts no doubt. But he doesnt have "it" IMO.

I have a newfound respect for Michael Cuddyer. He is willing to do anything for the team. I do hope they resign him. As for the rest of the pitchers... blegh... time to sell boys.

Cuddyer is the ultimate team player. Really like they guy. The Twins, however, are done IMO. Passing 3 teams in the division will be nearly impossible, especially with our starting rotation, and bull pen. Id like to see us trade Young, Morneau, and possibly Lariano to get someone who can pitch.
