53-man roster deadline on Aug. 27 4 pm

Post by CharVike »

I thought I'd make a bucket for activity related to the roster cut down. Should be plenty of movement.

This looks like a good site to check the cuts. Bengals let 11 go.

Risner IR out at least 4 games. Risner will not be eligible to return to the Vikings until Week 5 at the earliest. That means the Vikings could keep Dan Feeney as a back-up

Well one of my favorite Vikings PK Peg Joseph has won the job for the Packers. He's a great camp kicker. He's useless when the games on the line. Except for that 61 yarder and even he didn't expect to make it. That's why he was loose. If it was a 30 yarder it would have sailed right like always.

No Bo Richter? Kind of surprised to see that.

Otherwise, not really surprised.

I think the nickname for this year's defense should be the No Names. Not predicting they will be bad, but just that there isn't a lot of star power on that list. But who knows? Sometimes groups like that can play surprisingly well together.

Little surprised we've got 3 backfield players total. Haven't been able to look at all the moves yet. I assume they'll try to get Kene or Gaskin to PS. I guess you can find RBs mid-season if needed too.

Kept a lot of depth at OLine, hopefully someone someone steps up in one of the G spots.

Seemed like many people thought Asamoah was gone. He made it, probably last chance to prove something to them. Cine release I don't think anyone surprised by. Fresh start might be good for him.

I've seen this sentiment a few times, I'm not quite as magnanimous. I don't wish anyone ill will, but we already whiffed on him as a #1, I don't want to add to that by seeing him become a starter elsewhere. I'd rather whiff on draft only, rather than draft AND development :D

They must have a plan at RB, or have their eye on a few potential cuts. It's obvious they are looking for something specific, considering the revolving door in camp. My guess is with the reduced emphasis on returners, they are counting on Kene clearing to our PS

Cine logged 10 defensive snaps in total during his tenure in Minnesota. He signed a 4 year , $11,494,150 contract. That's $1,149,415 per snap. Cpt. Kirk couldn't even do that one. I can't see a team signing him with that guaranteed contract and zero production.

Might have to go with Incognito D. Fins already used No Name. Week one will be a perfect opportunity to prove their moniker. The Giants have nothing on O from front to back. This looks like a Raider repeat game. That stadium will be as loud as a church
funeral viewing. Will the thrill will hit a 65 yarder at the buzzer for a 3-2 win.

Totally understand. Simply don't agree though. It's more of a macro life thing for me. I do think that negative energy out brings negative energy back.

I wish him the best of luck and hope he is able to continue pursuing his goals after a nasty leg break.

If he blossoms somewhere else it is an opportunity for the Vikings organization to evaluate why they weren't able to develop him and adjust if needed. If he doesn't then we know it wasn't necessarily organizational failure, except for making the pick. : |

Former first round pick, who's under 25. He'll get a chance somewhere. Whether he sticks or not will be on him.

For us it would be better than carrying 4 million in dead money. You are right. The Jets will take the cap hit or a portion.
The New York Jets are signing former Vikings first-round pick Lewis Cine to their practice squad, NFL Network Insiders Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo reported on Wednesday.
