Aaron Jones
I'm very psyched for having Jones on our team now. He's been kicking our #### for the last 7 or 8 years? Time for him to kick some Packer #### for us. The reports from everybody at camp is he is a man among boys and a born leader.

Re: Aaron Jones
Aaron Jones may have more fuel left in the tank than expected

Whenever a veteran running back is released from a team and then immediately signed by someone, expectations are lowered. For Aaron Jones, going from one division opponent to another, he has a chance to prove something.
During his training camp tour, Matt Verderame of Sports Illustraed made a stop at Vikings camp. One of the many observations he had was on the new Vikings running back and how he looks despite everyone checking out on him.
“Jones showed good burst and acceleration, something that was a question entering camp after he was released by the Green Bay Packers this offseason. Jones, 29, averages five yards per carry for his career, and the player I saw in Minnesota might keep that figure where it is.”
The team had many issues in terms of consistency out of the backfield last year. The revolving door they had isn’t an option in 2024, and that does add a lot of pressure to Jones. He has shown he is up to the task over time at Green Bay, and that was before he had a chip on his shoulder.
The Vikings hope what Verderame saw at training camp carries into the regular season, potentially even becoming something more than a one-year deal.

The run game goals are simplw for me. Be better. Across the board it needs to be better. Think Jones and Chandler can provide a good punch from the backfield. Chandler needs to get better at pass pro. And our line needs to play better on the interior calls especially, or koc needs to recognize what his o line can do better. Hopefully Jones still has some wiggle.

Vikings seem to have some good depth at RB this year.makila wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 12:41 pm The run game goals are simplw for me. Be better. Across the board it needs to be better. TBH, the offense looks pretty good overall. The OL remains probably the biggest question mark, and I thought they played pretty well even as they put some of the 2's and 3's out there, especially given how much the Raiders were blitzing.
But I like the RB depth. I love the TE depth. WR3, which was probably the biggest question mark heading into this season, looks like it won't be a weakness either and might even turn into an objective strength.
QB, of course, will make or break it, but Darnold should be in a great position if he ends up as the starter and JJ might just wreck the league if he ends up as the starter.

Re: Aaron Jones
If Jones is in a time share with Chandler I hope he plays at least twice as many starts. Man do I hope McCarthy starts game one. If he does that means he is looking REAL GOOD.VikingLord wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 12:47 pmVikings seem to have some good depth at RB this year.makila wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 12:41 pm The run game goals are simplw for me.
