So i just watched the OT with Curt, Terry, Howie, Micheal, and Jimmy. They posted the 49'ers 13-0 win over the Saints. They were raving that if the 9ers can get by the Eagles they're going to the Super Bowl. A few seconds later they added the Cowboys to the mix and that was all. They also cited that every team in the east is a playoff team if the season ended today. What's more upsetting is that they never mentioned the Vikings in the conversation. lol get em Percy!!!! don't let them get away with this miscarriage of justice. Sick em Percy!!!!! make them pay!!!!!!!!! i SayEEEEEEEEE!!! OH they even had the audacity to support Jimmy Garapolololol polo as MVP canidate. Over our KIRK. Blasphemy just Blasphemy!!!!!!!!!! Strike them down Kirk!!!!! Strike them all Down !!!!! lol

Maybe because the 49ers have proven to be a better team. They only missed the Super Bowl last year because they dropped an interception. The 49ers play good ball especially on D. Maybe because both the Cowboys and Eagles beat us badly. We are not a liked team by the media. There's no doubt that we can improve just by getting some injured players back. We have a solid team and have shown we can win different ways. But we have some weak spots that are very weak. Our OL is one of them. That's not good. You need to control the point against good teams. Our FG kicker is another. Peg is a joke kicker. Our D seems to get destroyed on a weekly basis. Mac Jones who I wanted us to pick had a career best day. Somehow we are winning and I don't even think us fans know why. Enjoy the season and forget the media. The media is lost right now about the NFC. The golden boys Rodgers, Brady and Stafford haven't done much. Their teams look to be done.
KOC seems to have pumped new life in this team. When we returned that kick off he pumped his fist and was smiling. The guy was excited and that excitement rubs off. That gave us momentum. When he was questioned about the Cowboy beat down he said it counts as one. Now we need to prepare for the next game.

Would you rather the expectations for the Vikings be high, or have them flying under the radar and discounted?

Personally, who cares what the media believes? For the most part those folks are entertainers and relatively poorly informed on the inner workings of any given team. They watch the nationally televised games for the most part and look at the scores like the rest of us and reach their opinions and judgments based on the hype around those games. To be fair to them, so far the Vikings lost badly to the Eagles and Cowboys on national TV. They beat the Dolphins sans Tua, had a lot of things go right to squeak by the Bills, and the Patriots game was in doubt until the very end. The teams being mentioned by the talking heads, OTOH, have had several convincing wins over quality opponents under the bright lights on national TV.

As long as the Vikings lack that convincing win, they're going to struggle in the court of national opinion.

And that is just fine with me. I'd much rather nobody take them seriously than everyone start expecting them to be this great complete team. That isn't for us fans, either - it's for the players themselves. They are the ones who need to go out there week after week and find a way. They are the ones who I believe will play better if people doubt them. I would rather people doubt them, because in the end what makes any team truly special in the modern era of football isn't being objectively physically better than their opponents, but having the team chemistry and internal fight to stay in it and stick with it and stick with their teammates. I think that is what makes this Vikings team truly unique this year and, if they're going to go anywhere near the Superbowl, much less win it, they'll do it mainly because they stuck together and played as a team and believed in each other.

I don't know if that makes you feel any better about what you're hearing from the talking heads. At the very least, you'll have the glib satisfaction of knowing they were wrong when the Vikings win the Superbowl this year.

I remember the 1987 season and how little/no respect the Vikings were getting heading into the Playoffs. I knew all these talking heads didn't know what they were talking about. If you were fan you knew how well they were playing. I fully expected them to march through New Orleans, San Francisco & Washington on their was to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, they got derailed by the Redskins. But the fact that they were getting no respect made those first two wins all the more better.

So many sportscasters are terrible.

I understand if I am listening to a Bears and Vikings game on the Bears network. It’s going to be biased to wards the Bears..

On a nationally televised game it should unbiased crew, spitting out game with a middle of the road view.

Some just irritate the heck out of you.

For me the worst irrigator is Gary Danielson...Almost every Alabama game I watch he is doing the game. You know he knows everything. Especially the reviews. But when it's different from the results he justify why it was different

Watching the Packers Eagles game. To me it sounded one minute they are hyping the packers as packer fans. Then changed coats for the Eagles. Maybe that’s good when trying to keep both sides happy

Anyone who was around for the four Super Bowls knows likely remembers that we were never taken seriously by the National media. Those news and sports organizations are located in large population centers. The Vikings just need to keep attacking this season one game at a time. As has been pointed out many times, we don’t always match up well with some of the stronger teams. We have issues on defense and place kicking and some injuries to deal with. Do I think that a team with those problems can win a Super Bowl? By all means, no team has a perfect roster and has to be aware of their weaknesses and try to come up with a good game plan that will minimize the damage caused by mismatches. Some lucky bounces always help but this team appears to be capable of a strong run down the stretch.

The way I am looking at this season, most wanted a complete rebuild which would have likely resulted in a poor record this season. Here we are 9-2 and could win our division this week. I’m torn between our weaknesses and magic. In other words, if the Vikings somehow manage to ride this deal all the way I don’t want to ruin it for myself by being negative about their chances. If it falls apart short of a championship I have dealt with that since 1961 so I will accept what happens and move on. I’m enjoying this season imperfections and ugly wins and blow out loses included. If nothing else this season has given me a lot of confidence in our new GM and HC. The future with KOC should be a fun ride.

They followed this up with a pretty close call against a mediocre team in New England. We have a great record but its built on a bunch of very close calls, many against poor teams. This is EXACTLY the kind of team that has broken my heart for 4-5 decades. We are likely to go into post season play and promptly get eliminated by any team with a strong front line. Sorry, but this is the reality of being a Vikings fan

Weird because we are 4-2 against teams with a winning record this year. So 5 wins against "poor teams" (which I honestly dont believe there is such thing in the NFL) and 4 wins against teams with winning records. Sounds about even to me.

And I dont really believe it's the "reality of being a Vikings fan". This is a completely new regime that has flipped this team to 9-2 overnight and has a culture that players are 1000% bought in to. That means something. I dont really care what the past has been like. The past is the past. These players dont care about the past. These coaches dont care about the past. Fans seem to get too caught up in the past. Fans need to look forward to the future.... for once.
