Rhodes Film Session
A little late and I apologize if this has been posted but has anyone seen his film session on gamepass? He is incredibly intelligent and a true pro. Made me appreciate him so much more. He has to be a great teacher with the young guys. He may have a future in coaching.

Re: Rhodes Film Session
Sometimes I get the sense that Vikings fans feel Rhodes is past his prime, but he isn't getting many balls thrown against him or completed on him in games and for the most part still seems to be the guy the coaches put on the other team's best receiver. He does give up plays at times, but there are few CBs at the pro level that don't.
I really like the DBs the Vikings have this year. I don't always like the scheme that leaves WRs wide open in pockets and the DBs aren't always communicating well with one another which sometimes results in some wide open receivers, but generally speaking when healthy this is a solid group of secondary players that can cover and tackle. With Hughes and Alexander back, Trubisky should find the going very tough, especially if the front 7 does a good job limiting the Bears running and keeping Trubisky bottled up.

Agree completely. This defense on paper is so talented. I've been guilty of being too critical of Rhodes in the past and he does seem to always have little injuries that make him miss time in games but he's a helluva player and we're lucky to have him. I don't think Chicago can beat us if we don't turn it over and limit the running game. They probably feel the same way about us though.VikingLord wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 11:54 am Sometimes I get the sense that Vikings fans feel Rhodes is past his prime, but he isn't getting many balls thrown against him or completed on him in games and for the most part still seems to be the guy the coaches put on the other team's best receiver. I also think Rhodes is a heck of a talent. As you said he usually is tasked with covering the best opposing receiver and really doesn't have many balls thrown his way.Maelstrom88 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 11:59 amAgree completely. My biggest complaint on him since hes been here is his tendency to .. let me quote the great Vince Lombardi " Grab, Grab, Grab". So many great defensive plays have been nullified over the years he has been here due to one of his grabs.
I remember when the secondary coach had him and Wayne's practicing in boxing gloves to help with the issue a few seasons back.
And the other thing that drives me nuts is how any time, no make that just about EVERY time he gets beat for a big play, he usually gets up slowly, holding a hammy or his knee and struggles to make it off the field. Then when he is shown on the sideline a few mins later hes smiling and laughing and suddenly just fine. Lol. Guess I like guys like Harry, who if the do get burned, pound the ground, get up and yell a few things their mothers wouldn't be proud of and man up that they blew it.
But seriously the guy is an amazing and very intelligent player who I feel very fortunate to have in our secondary.
I just wanna die as a Super Bowl Champion Viking Fan!!
