Wildcard Weekend Discussion Thread

Surprised there's been no chatter here on these games! Couple of good ones on tap today - I am excited to watch Andy Luck. Colts are my adopted team this year.

The Cards were mine. :( Then Palmer went down and their season seemed to go with him.

Last night's game was good. I don't know why I didn't switch my pick to say the ravens would cover because by the time the game kicked off, I had convinced myself they were going to win! That's a dangerous, under-the-radar team.

I'm rooting for the Colts today. Normally, I'd root against the Cowboys but Romo has taken so much crap over the years, and the Lions have been such a dirty team in recent seasons, that I find myself on the fence. I wouldn't mind seeing some postseason success for Romo.

Sure you did, Jim. :D

Just kidding - I know what you mean. That team just knows how to win football games. They are going to be a tough out in Foxboro next weekend.

I root against the Lions because I don't want yet ANOTHER team to get a Super Bowl win before the Vikings (that and I hate the Lions as a team for reasons that Jim mentioned). I was actually hoping Green Bay would win last week because I wanted Detroit's road to be as tough as possible.

The Ravens are a dangerous team. I love how they play. Joe Flacco reminds me of Eli Manning where he is at his best in the playoffs.

I feel the same way: my default is to cheer against the Cowboys, but Detroit's dirty and I don't want them to gain any momentum or confidence as a team. I'd hate to see them get a ring before us too. I guess I'm just hoping for an entertaining 2nd half and I wouldn't mind if the Cowboys won.

Personally, I could never (and I am not cheering for) cheer for Dallas. Go Detroit.

Man did Detroit get screwed on the pass interference call. No idea how they picked up that flag.

Dallas may have just given them the game back though... what a stupid play by their lineman to not fall on the ball but instead try to run with it. Wow.

There was little or no hope that would happen. They are one of the biggest chokers of all time (except maybe for our Purple Guys).

I'd care about that terrible PI call if the Lions weren't so hateable due to being so filthy dirty.

Screw dem.

Is that like "Who dat"? "Screw dem!" :D

I agree, and really, by definition, it was the right call, but I have seen it called before. I Will be interested to hear the explanation about why the flag was picked up.

The Lions beat themselves though... the 10 yard punt, the False Start on Calvin (OVERRATED) Johnson at the end were killers.

Complete and utter BS on that PI call. First of all, it was a penalty. It should have been a first down for Detroit. Secondly, WTF kinda BS is it to pick up the flag with NO explanation why? Third and final point, since when in the hell can a player just run all the way on to the field from the bench and start arguing with the refs?! That should have been an unsportsman like conduct penalty on that POS Dez Bryant.

Unbelievable how bad Detroit got jobbed. Just awful. Wouldn't be surprise if the fix was in for this one.

Amen.

Doesn't matter though. It was predictable that Dallas got the key "hometown reverse somersault call-no-call", which cost the Lions momentum at the key point of the game. Man I hate the Cowboys. It's bad when they win. It's far worse when they win by referee. Remember the "Hail Mary" no call.

I hate the cowgirls too but I want the pukers to lose next week and we saw what the Detroit kitties did in their last game with with greenbay. I think the girls have a better chance to beat the puke than the kitties would have.
