People did not buy enough e-pull tabs to make any money for the stadium . So the clever and inventive scheme of SBL's has finally been officially introduced.
There is much comfort however, that the email from the Vikings says:
"SBL programs have been used to help finance construction of more than half of all stadium projects throughout the NFL and include benefits for fans"
Here are the "benefits":
What are the benefits to fans of purchasing an SBL?
•Guarantee that a Season Ticket Owner will own his/her seats for a defined term as long as he/she continues to purchase season tickets
•Ability to hold, transfer or sell SBL as fan sees fit after first year
•Opportunity to purchase playoff tickets to home games
•Considerable savings compared with single-game prices
•Opportunity to purchase individual game tickets before the general public, and in some cases other event tickets
•Some SBL locations will also offer the right of first refusal to purchase tickets to other select events in the facility
Wow, exactly the same "benefits" we get now, without SBL's! Sign me up!
•25% of stadium capacity, including approximately 12,000 seats, will not include an SBL
•Various pricing zones, including some with SBLs as low as $500
•More than 10,000 seats with an SBL will be priced at $1,000 or less
•Expected average one-time SBL price will be approximately $2,500
•Approximately 80% of seats with SBLs will be priced at $3,000 or less
•Maximum price for an individual SBL will be $10,000

EEK! Pricey! People better get saving now!
Re: SBL Stadium Builder's Licenses
The pull tabs were for the State's share. The seat licenses go to the owners pockets directly for their share. I think it unfortunate the best fans are gouged this way, but at least they can drop out and not pay, unlike the general public. This is a cost born only by fans of the team. That is good from my perspective.
