Performance or coaching? Or both to blame? That's unacceptable.
#Vikings scoring by quarter this season, 1st: 31, 2nd: 41, 3rd: 31, 4th: 9. / Outscored 41-9 in fourth quarters this season.

Yesterday's win was no better in this category: 0 points in the 4th...

Stupid in the sense it's ridiculous how inept either our offense or coaching is in the fourth (or both)

And that's what I'm talking about when I say the coaches adapt to the least amount of risk when possible. I guess I should have been more specific to the 4th quarter but damn, it's really bad.
I'd agree that it doesn't matter with Cassel except that we saw the same type of timid decision making that almost cost us the game AGAIN even with a 17 point lead.

I looked back, and the run-pass ratio for our offense in the 4th in this game was pretty even. The team just couldn't convert on a couple of third downs and Walsh had a rare miss (according to Kluwe it was an imperfect hold that caused the ball to hook). The larger part is the defense not giving the offense more opportunities and allowing sustained drives. The defense allowed drives of 7, 9 and 11 plays in the fourth quarter alone.
For me, the biggest questionable call was their last drive. On third-and-three they gave it to AD (he ran it four times in a row). Though, he gets it and it's a first down and the clock still runs, so, hindsight and all.

The Vikes have been leading going into the fourth quarter which is where one team goes into ultra conservative ball and the other has nothing to lose but the game. They then get aggressive and catch up. Being outscored is only one of the embarrassing stats. Playing not to lose is the worst!
...wisdom

It's not necessarily just "did they pass it or did they run it" but the creativity involved. A pass play with Simpson, Carlson, and Gerhart where Carlson goes 2 yards into the right flat and Gerhart goes 1 yard into the left flat and Simpson gets doubled over the middle isn't the "quality" of play I'd like to see. It's safe, that's about it.
I'd like to see a "pick play" where multiple wide receivers are on a side and we try to cross up coverage while draggin Patterson underneath. I'd like to see routes that clear out coverage for Jennings to cross short under it. There are things you can do if you only need to pick up 3 yards on 3rd down that are very high percentage and very hard to defend.

This is yet another reason Frasier needs to be fired. You can't win in the NFL with that mindset. You just can't.
You teach your kids to be aggressive their whole lives, and then in the NFL, these idiots teach them to take a bit off and just try not to lose. Pathetic.

Between his holds and his baby punts.

Fraiser and Musgrove Offensive Philosophy: With a lead in the 4th quarter Give up, wimp out, not try to win , 3 and out rely on a tired unequipped Defense. Can't they see it isn't working? You have to wonder sometimes?? Can they really be that stupid?

   They have NO KILLER instinct
