Future Leader?
Alert: This thread is not about Plunder. Who is gonna be the future QB star for this Franchise? We are FFFING DUE! Is there one in the foreseeable future? We have been pretty much doomed for the last what 15 years?. Another question for you draft guys, what are the chances of getting Johnny Football?

Another noodle armed midget. Great.

He might be small but I don't think he has a noodle arm.Demi wrote:Another noodle armed midget. Great.

Josh Freeman wants out of Tampa (don't blame him, F*** Schiano). Could trade for him.

Re: Future Leader?
Depends entirely on where they end up drafting. To have any shot at Bridgewater or Boyd, they'll need to be drafting #1 or #2 most likely.
Later than that, it will come down to a guy with some question marks, but undeniable potential. Manziel is heads-and-tails at the front of that class of prospects.
As far as the midget comments goes, Fran Tarkenton was 6'0", 190 lbs when he played.
Johhny Manziel is 6'1", 210 lbs.
Russel Wilson is 5'11", 206 lbs.
Arm strength is similar.
From where I sit, it's what is between the ears and the ability (and confidence) to make plays that the Vikings needs. Manziel would bring that to the table.
Forget the midget comments when it comes to Manziel. The guy can play and his ceiling is higher than anyone the Vikes might get outside of the top 3 picks.

Seriously Demi? You are bringing up Tebow in the same thread as Manziel?Demi wrote:So did Tebow.
Re: Future Leader?
Just like Tebow he gets away with things that he's not going to be able to in the NFL. He's also a head case. Reminds me of Leaf...bit of a flake...sure he has confidence, and that oh so important undersized athleticism. There were questions about his arm strength last year, but as we Viking fans know...that's always overblown...VikingLord wrote: Seriously Demi? Re: Future Leader?
Yeah, but unlike Tebow he also sees things and makes plays with his scrambling and his arm. Tebow was like a glorified RB playing QB most of his college days.
As far as being a headcase, to each his own. I personally don't see a headcase. I see a guy who knows he's damn good and if he gets knocked down he's going to get right back up and go after you even harder for knocking him down. He's not going to squirt a ref with a water bottle or walk off the field early. Plus, the dude still has room to mature and I believe he will.
And outside of the obvious 1st 2 QBs in this draft, who has a higher ceiling? If the Vikes aren't picking in the 1st 3 picks, they're going to need a Plan B at QB in that draft.

Re: Future Leader?
Manziel has a decent arm and release, unlike Tebow. But I also agree with Demi that there's a lot of backyard football stuff he does that simply won't work in the NFL. When he evaded the sack and just threw it up for grabs was a prime example. I don't think a guy his size can put up with the punishment he'll take in order to be effective since so much of his game is done with his legs. I want a pocket passer for once.
Re: Future Leader?
Idk, I watched the A&M/Bama game yesterday and AJ McCarren looked more like a NFL pocket passer and was more impressive than Manziel. All Manziel did was run around, leave the pocket early and throw the ball up for grabs most of the game. He just happens to have big receivers who can win those jump balls. I like his aggressiveness, but I don't think his game is going to work in the NFL.

To get Bridgewater the Vikes will have to have the 1st pick in the draft.UnOrthoDox23 wrote:Teddy Bridgewater >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Johnny Manziel
