Yeah, Palmer is 33, but he was 330/2 TD/1 Turnover.

Alex Smith is only 29. A whopping 4 years older.
We totally had a chance for him. Second round pick. Big friggin' deal.
We had an immediate concern at quarterback that would have been immediately addressed with an upgrade to it...

Palmer is a turnover machine. I'm tired of stop gaps.

I'd take Rivers or Freeman in the off-season but other than that we have to look in the draft.

Yep, I prefer the Tjokes and Ponders of the world...err wait...didn't the last gap stop get us 1 INT away from the SB? that's all I want us to have is a chance in the big game. The last stop gap almost got us there.

I'd trade 5 or 10 years on a guy who is supposed to be "the future" but won't get us the ring over a guy who can get us the ring just once.

Totally different scenario. That team was a QB away from a Super Bowl, this one is not. People are forget were were 3-13 just 2 years ago. We'd go as far with Carson Palmer as we did with Ponder last year. He'd put up better numbers for sure but neither are taking us deep in the playoffs.

We are also forgetting that the same "stop-gap" also only got us to 6-10 the following year (2010). The "glory days" of 2009 were quickly eclipsed in 2010...
