I think this is preposterous. When was the last time guy was even considered the best WR for the Packers? 2006? PLEASE NO!

Vikings interested in Donald Driver?
What?!?!? This makes no sense whatsoever to me. Way to old and I don't think he has anything to offer to the Vikings. next please.

Re: Report: Vikings interested in Donald Driver
No way this is true. A 38 year old WR just does not fit into the youth movement the Vikings are currently undertaking.
Re: Report: Vikings interested in Donald Driver
Genuine interest from the Vikings is extremely unlikely. They tend to look for young free agents coming off their first contract, not 38 year old receivers whose best days are behind them.

Shoot, I think Fred Biletnikoff might be available, too.

Dead wood.
Think I'd have more faith in fielding Rex Ryan in the position
If we're going to nab a guy from the arch nemesis, have to ensure it'll be a successful stint, I hear Greg's sold up in Wisconsin, worth a shot!

Re: Report: Vikings interested in Donald Driver
Yup. It's so plainly obvious that it's just him and his agent trying to coax the Packers into throwing him a bone. Of course he wants to stay with the Packers, he'd be crazy not to. They're his only chance to stay in the league. He thinks he can play as a WR1 or WR2 for three more years? He's a fool if he believes that. I hope the Pack does give him a pity 1-year contract and let his 38 year old creaky body take up a roster spot.80 PurplePride 84 wrote:Read nothing into this, it's probably just his agent trying to drive up interest.
To that team and fan base he's a legend (I guess...?) To the rest of the NFL and it's fans he was a good, not great, WR who benefited from HOF QB play his entire career.
Re: Report: Vikings interested in Donald Driver
yeah he lines up well with our youth movement ...
no one expects the Spanish Inquisition!
Re: Report: Vikings interested in Donald Driver
I will be stunned as well. Signing Driver contradicts everything the Vikings have been trying to do to rebuild the team.80 PurplePride 84 wrote:Read nothing into this, it's probably just his agent trying to drive up interest. Plus it's from PFTMZ.
If the Vikings sign Driver I will be stunned.

Re: Report: Vikings interested in Donald Driver
if we make a big investment in Driver, the Packers will laugh all season....too old, NOT the top rank WR on their team by any means, NOT what we need to build upon. Now, he might be a good, mature presence if we have a core of good young WRs to help train/coach them up, but he is NOT going to be the answer to our needs in and of himself.

Re: Report: Vikings interested in Donald Driver
Let's sign Jerry Rice while we're at it.
I mean, Randy Moss just declared himself the greatest receiver of all time. I'm sure Rice now has something to prove, and he's only 51.

Go ahead. I dare you.

I'm listening to Donald Driver talk to Mike and Mike and he just said he intends to retire next month.
