I think it will be Arians.

So at the end of the season, Frazier did better than Green (and holds the franchise record):Valhalla wrote:

Another 7 game improvement would be nice next year

I've told people a million times not to exaggerate!
Re: Leslie Frazier- Coach of the year candidate
I don't think Frazier will win it. That said, I sure do respect what he's done for the team. The 10-6 record was beyond my expectations before the season started.

Improved, yes. Coty? nope.
Re: Leslie Frazier- Coach of the year candidate
Finishing 10-6 the way Christian Ponder played much of the season is the most impressive piece of coaching I've seen in some time. Arians will win but they had Andrew Luck so it's less impressive in my opinion.

Having AD on your team doesnt make you COTY.CalVike wrote:Finishing 10-6 the way Christian Ponder played much of the season is the most impressive piece of coaching I've seen in some time. Arians will win but they had Andrew Luck so it's less impressive in my opinion.

What does? Do you think any coach wins COTY without some terrific players and performances from his team?PurpleKoolaid wrote: Having AD on your team doesnt make you COTY.
Maybe you should to switch to a different flavor of Kool-Aid. Either the purple stuff you're drinking is awfully sour or you aren't drinking enough of it.

Do not mistake KINDNESS for WEAKNESS!

My point is, AD carried this team on his back, along with a few nice plays on the D, and ST. When it comes to making adjustments, I think Fraizer is amoung the worst. Whens the last time he made adjustments that changed the game? What huge difference has he personally made this year? He apparently cant handle PH, our best overall player (ST, RB, WR, Slot, gimic, etc). I cant think of anything else that has come up.Mothman wrote: What does? He did get the team prepared to win some road games, but thats not COTY stuff. Telling Musgrave, 'hey our QB isnt getting the job done, lets give AD the ball', doesnt either. I like his improvement, but man, we get a few wins and this board goes crazy. Look back 6 weeks ago and look at the Ponder/Fraizer posts. We made a nice run, we got some nice looking rookies, but we have a few very serious problems that somehow have to be address before he would get my vote for COTY. And i really like the guy personally and want him to win.

Frazier will not win COTY. But I do think he is definitely in the top 5 coaches this year. Huge props to him.

I wonder if Fox is? Man Denver gets every single call. Must be nice to have Manning.
Re: Leslie Frazier- Coach of the year candidate
He handled PH fine. In what way was Harvin a problem or detrimental to the Vikings this season? Answer: he wasn't. In fact, he was playing at a level so high that there was talk about him as an MVP candidate earlier this season.PurpleKoolaid wrote:My point is, AD carried this team on his back, along with a few nice plays on the D, and ST. What huge difference did Frazier make? You must be kidding. Do you think a team goes from 3-13 to 10-6 without good coaching? He guided them through adversity mid-season. Peterson's injury recovery was managed beautifully. They were able to get production out of him all season and they didn't over-work or ask him to make plays his knee couldn't handle early in the year, When the Vikings struggled during the middle of the season and teams began rolling over their defense or blitzing their offense into oblivion, they found ways to adjust, to get their QB back on track, to shore up their blocking, to manage a passing game even without much talent on the outside. They came up with good game plan after game plan during the latter part of the season, successfully putting together a 4 game winning streak that almost nobody believed they could manage. None of that happens without some strong coaching and leadership so frankly, the only way to miss the great job Frazier did this year is to refuse to see it.
What does? They pulled off upsets against playoff-caliber teams they weren't supposed to beat. They overachieved. They were unified, even during tough times. They fought through adversity. They were well-prepared and played competitively in almost every single game. All of that is indicative of good coaching. They put together the single greatest improvement in the W/L from one season to another in Vikings history...He did get the team prepared to win some road games, but thats not COTY stuff. Telling Musgrave, 'hey our QB isnt getting the job done, lets give AD the ball', doesnt either.
They didn't get a "few" wins. They got 10 wins. That's a good season and a huge turnaround from the previous year. The board isn't going crazy. Frazier has been talked about as a COTY candidate on the national level and is almost universally perceived as a coach who did a superb job this season.I like his improvement, but man, we get a few wins and this board goes crazy.

Re: Leslie Frazier- Coach of the year candidate
Wish i knew how to do the quote thing lol.
Ok so last season 3-13 was a fluke? Or Fraizer is a really fast learner? Or we had an excellent draft, and a FB that helped, instead of hindered AD? I think it was a little of both, but again not CoTY stuff. And if he handled PH fne, after the world saw PH blowing up at Fraizer, how come its still an issue (at least to some)? I didnt hear or see a single reporter say what it was about or how it was handled. Just that theres unhappiness with PH now.
And by a few wins i meant, this board went from firing Fraizer and who we would get to replace him, and the same with Ponder. And now all of a sudden Fraizer has the most important role of a team figured out (the QB) when he didnt before? Again we got a little luck and luckily didnt have to reley on Ponder. But to me it just isnt good coaching. Nor is it all Fraizers fault. But im still not on the Fraizer bandwagon. I rarely change my opion of someone until I see concrete proof, i dont go game to game. Our QB situation is dire, and saying Webb will fight for the backup role doesnt solve a thing.

In the top right corner of the person's post, there is a little button that says quote. All you have to do is press that button and your set!PurpleKoolaid wrote:Wish i knew how to do the quote thing lol.
