They talk about Ponder (of course) and Peterson. I loved this exchange:
BS: You've got one of the greatest running backs ever in Adrian Peterson. He's done incredible things without having a superior quarterback. Do you get a little worried about that window of opportunity for Peterson? You don't know when it's going to start to close. Do you worry Ponder will arrive while that window still is open?
LF: That's a great question. What I reference, when I've thought about with that question is Walter -- playing with Walter Payton. He had a great career but they never could solidify the quarterback position until the year we won a championship. (Frazier was a cornerback on the Chicago Bears' 1985 Super Bowl team.) I remember sometimes thinking when I first got to Chicago, "Man, we've got a great running back but we don't have the other pieces to the puzzle yet." And he wondered if he'd ever win a championship. And that window, it begins to close. It's a good question. I hope we can surround Adrian with the pieces that are necessary because there's nobody who's better than him. And he deserves to be on a championship team. He deserves to be on that stage. We've got to keep trying to figure out how to get the right pieces around him.
BS: When people watch Adrian Peterson, will it be like watching Jim Brown and Walter Payton in their prime? Are people seeing an historic player?
LF: Without question. I don't know if you'll see another guy like this. His power. His speed. His size. And his determination. He's rare.
BS: I've watched footage of Jim Brown. That was a 21st Century back playing in the 1960s. He was bigger than some of the defensive linemen.
LF: I agree. Whenever I see clips of him, I'm just amazed he was playing at that time. He was way ahead of his time.
BS: Imagine putting Adrian Peterson in that time.
LF: They're similar. Jim Brown was fast, big. They're very similar. It would be domination. Just like Jim was: dominant.
BS: Looking at Jim Brown footage was like watching a man against young children.
LF: Yes. And Adrian is making it look that way now in 2012.
