Inception
Can someone please explain this movie to me? I read the info on IMDB, but it doesn't make lot of sense to me... the movie looks good, I want to see it but I want to be able to understand it, lol...

Re: Inception
I saw it and it was preety good. I don't want to spoil it but it's kind of like that movie Memento, and the Matrix and if your into psychology than this is kind of the movie u want to see.
Re: Inception
I'm not 100% clear on the plot myself but I've heard so many good things I plan on seeing it at some point regardless.
I know it's got something to do with guys going into other people's dreams to plant ideas in them. I don't know if they're found out or what but apparently something goes wrong and in comes the action. No idea other than that ... and wouldn't swear to you that's correct.

Re: Inception
The crux of the movie's plot is the idea you can both steal and plant ideas/information in someone's subconscious with something called simultaneous dreaming. The moment where the idea takes hold in the subject's head is what the movie refers to as inception.
I saw the movie this past weekend and it is indeed good. Solid acting, directing, writing, effects. The plot itself may not be everyone's cup of tea and it may be a touch convoluted. You're forced to follow a group of people in multiple, simultaneous (dream) worlds that all adhere to a different rate of time elapse. Ie) 1 minute in one world is equivalent to 1 hour in another. Because of the quality of the film making it never gets overly confusing and is probably easier to follow than my description makes it sound.
I enjoyed it and recommend a theatrical viewing.
8.4/10.

Yeah I give it around that maybe just a little below as an 8/10 but nothing higher than a 9/10 because people are really overrating this movie like they never seen a movie like this before.
Re: Inception
I saw it tonight and thought it was pretty good. Given a choice I would
have seen another flick probably salt or grown ups.

Re: Inception
I saw it last night too, and I was very impressed. It was much easier to follow than the trailers made it seem. I liked it a lot!!

I just can't take leo seriously post gilbert grape/about a boy. he's a manchild.
Re: Inception
I hated it. It felt like I was on a puke ride in an amusement park, except that it was conceived by a dope smoking college student.PurpleMustReign wrote:Can someone please explain this movie to me? My 17 year old daughter recommended it to me. She must have been trying to get back at me for something. Whatever it was, I probably deserved it.
Re: Inception
Really? Because he has absolutely been knocking it out of the park lately. Blood Diamond was a masterpiece. The Departed was great. Inception was great.TrenchGoon wrote:I just can't take leo seriously post gilbert grape/about a boy. he's a manchild.

Re: Inception
I thought it was wonderful! It's definitely not a movie for those with a weak mind. It takes a lot to process what's going on, but it was really, really cool. There were lots of great effects, and a good storyline. I'd say it's worth watching again if you didn't quite understand it the first time. My fiancee didn't get it until the second time around, then she loved it.DanAS wrote: I hated it. Loved Inception. I think the twists and turns of the narrative were handled quite well.
Just saw Atonement (finally) and was floored with how good it is. I need to read the novel.

Re: Inception
The extent of action on the screen was driving me nuts. If it actually had something to say, I'm sorry I missed it, but I seriously was getting a head ache because of all the special effects.beardedterror wrote: I thought it was wonderful! If someone wants to write down in propositional form the points this writer had to make, I'd love to read them.

Does a great job (IMO) of explaining things from one of the actor's in the film.
