Movies fresh out to DVD

Post by jackal »

I have watched a quite a few Movies semi or brand new to DVD

The Reader quite a bit of sex in the movie but it wasn't really about that overall.
A long movie that was pretty good overall and IMO is a good pick for adults only.
A

Valkerie

Maybe I was tired that night but it put me to sleep I think the tried to follow
the real story rather than make it something you better have an energy drink to watch.
c-

Grand Torino

I really liked this movie. The main Character was a lot like Archie Bunker mixed
a war veteran. There is deeper plot you have to follow the character develops
towards the end of the movie.
B

Role Models

definatly a light hearted comedy on the more dumbed down to the masses
level. Had some good moments and worth watching for cheap laughs IMO
subject matter is late teens to adults IMO.

C+

I just bought 'Gran Torino' (yes, it has no 'D'), but have not watched it yet. Heard it was good, though. Glad to see you concur.

Want to get 'Valkyrie', but haven't yet. I suppose my attitude towards Tom Cruise may have something to do with that. But I'm interested in history and there are a few other actors in this movie I do like enough to get it.

The movie is very well done, and the car is beautiful.

I liked Valkyrie. It wasn't correct historically in a few places, but it was pretty close for a major motion picture. I am no Tom Cruise fan either. It isn't really an action movie though. At least it didn't get wrecked by having a screaming kid like Dakota Fanning in War of the Worlds.

For people that liked Valkyrie, I'd recommend renting Stalingrad.

I just watched I Love You Man. Pretty good flick. B+
