OJ Simpson sentenced

Simpson got at least 7 1/2 years in prison. His co-defendant, CJ Stewart, also got at least 6 years. Verdicts -- and sentences -- to be appealed, of course.

Simpson's sentence can only be shortened by 2 1/2 years. The sentence for one of the charges is an automatic sentence of 15 years (with eligibility for parole after 5) and is not at the discretion of the judge.

And the only way he can got off scot-free is if the tapes of the incident are not allowed at a retrial. The tapes are what really convicted Simpson. The jury was able to hear exactly what was said by Simpson in that hotel room and at the celebratory party afterwards. The judge at the sentencing pointed to the tapes as proof of the violence of the robbery. And as proof that Simpson knew that guns were in the possession of his co-defendants. He pretty much sealed his own fate with his own mouth.

It's not karma, it's stupidity.

If you do believe he killed two people then a few years in jail doesn't quite account for that karma-wise. If you don't believe he killed two people then the karma still doesn't add up considering what he went through after the trial.

Yep, that was nit-picking, but OJ must be the dumbest sob on Earth. He has been playing golf and yucking it up since he murdered two people and he commits an armed robbery... he must have thought he could walk on water.

Karma would be someone cutting his throat in prison.

Well, I've heard different numbers, too, since I posted this. CNN had it at 7 1/2, so that's what I went with. Everyone musta burnt out their calculators trying to figure this out.

Have you heard Simpson's plea to the judge? "I didn't know I was doing anything wrong." Excuse me? You go to a hotel room with guns to take something that's not yours and you didn't know you were doing anything wrong? Please. What is wrong with this guy?

Good riddance of a criminal bully and a murderer. Too bad his sentence is so short. 30 years would have been better.
