I got a good look at Tennessee WR Cordarrelle Patterson. I really like this kid. After going back and watching game film of him I believe he is destined for stardom in the NFL. He can do it all, last season he caught passes, ran the ball, returned kicks and punts. He ended up with 1,858 all purpose yards. Every time he touched the ball he averaged 18.77 (yards per play). Seeing him without pads makes you appreciate him any more. He's not just a sprinter playing football. He has a strong, powerful body.

I loved the white dinner jacket! They could use some players with style on the Vikings.

Hope the kid can keep his nose clean and work hard. But I think the Vikings have just the coaching staff and organization to help him and some of the others do it. They sure do seem to get younger every year. Hopefully not immature, just young.

PPP huh? Lol that's awesome I remember an announcer saying "Ponder threw the ball before Ponder was 5 yards in" (it was harvin he meant to say percy). Can't wait to hear the people try and keep that crap straight.

NFL forums are not too kind to CP² predicting bust. I bet they're wrong. I think the Vikings wanted Austin however CP was the one I wanted period. Bigger tougher and lightning in a bottle. TA may have a bigger impact of the bat but I think CP² overall will be a better player.

Okay you had Percy lined up across from AD, what did they do? Cover the hell out of Percy and basically called the play. You line CP² next to AD and they both have ability like they do (obviously AD is better) however focus on AD will let CP² breakout. If Wright improves at all this year the Vikes are going to gut teams.... until they're 3-7 point ahead and then try to coast the rest of the game for whatever reason they think being ahead 1 score is go into sleep mode.

now if ponder or cassell can get him the ball. I was hoping we would draft tyler Wilson or landry jones for the future because ponder and cassell don't exactly light up the scoreboard. :(

Patterson may not be the brightest lightbulb but the little I've seen of him on film makes me happy we drafted him. There are a lot of dumb players in the NFL but it surely doesn't mean they can't play football.

This guy is VERY elusive and quick which makes for an exciting player. GJ and the coaches will help him as far as route running as well as how to become a top notch player IMO. This dude is lightning in a bottle. Glad we got him and I am very excited to see what he can do to help Ponder and the Vikes.

This is going to be a great year for the Vikings!!!

What I like about this pick is that we have a guy with serious playmaking ability. I didn't see that with any WR beyond Patterson and Austin.

I was pleasantly surprised when I heard him talk, too. He comes off as a really fun guy to be around: he laughs easy and speaks well. I expected less from things I had read.

IMO, we gave up a lot. The Pats grabbed 2 WRs that I liked: Dobson and Boyce (2nd and 4th). We could have done a lot of other things with the picks we had, but I feel pretty good about this pick mostly because I think he'll pick up some of the duties that Percy had and he'll do it without the bad attitude and he looks to be more durable as well.

I am surprised there are people belittling this pick. Where else in the draft are you going to get a player that has the same ability that Patterson does? Kennan Allen does not have it. Markus Wheaton has the speed, but not the explosiveness. The same goes for Ryan Swope.

To me, it was a no brainer. Patterson was obviously very high on their draft board. If there is a guy everyone in the draft room wants, you take him or you consider trading up for him. I am glad they made the trade up.

tavon isn't the brightest bulb either. funny how some analysts thought patterson may be the best wr in the draft now there is a lot of questions. Patterson has the biggest upside imo.

I find it awesome that a QB with #7 will be throwing to a rookie WR with #84 a la 1998 :D :v):

And obviously no homerism going on. The guy single handedly beats SEC teams week in and week out. Eats them for breakfast.

I'm just amazing he made it out of the top 5. Don't worry about the fact he's mentally deficient. A project. No real college experience. He's a BEAST! :smilevike:
So Ponder literally being a genius helps him be a good QB? Reading the D? Seeing the blitz (and then running right into it)? :D :)
