I'm not calling out anyone here, but this prediction on Keenan Allen was as bad as most of my predictions!tavon Austin is more pro ready but he is more of a slot receiver, special teams. Patterson has more potential, he could do it all. I will take potential over a mediocre pro ready wr like keenan allen .
Grantland had an article predicting he'd probably come in second place for offensive ROY: http://grantland.com/features/the-nfl-honor-roll/fiestavike wrote: I think it still remains to be seen. Sure, Allen had a nice season and he could continue to get better, but his stats are not that much better than a guy like Danario Alexander in 2010 or Malcolm Floyd for the chargers between 2010-12. They are all certainly from the same mold.
Allen 2013 --15 games, 1046 yard, 14.7avg, 8 tds
Alexander 2012- 10 games, 652 yard, 17.8avg, 7tds
Floyd 2011- 12 games, 856 yards, 19.9avg, 5tds
In 14 starts, Allen produced a 71-catch, 1,046-yard, eight-touchdown campaign that ranks as one of the most impressive rookie seasons for a receiver in recent memory. Just 12 wideouts since the merger have managed to post 1,000-yard campaigns during their rookie year, and it’s a pretty spectacular group. Plus, Michael Clayton! Allen was the star of a resurgent Chargers passing attack under Philip Rivers, and while there were more notable names in the San Diego receiving corps, Allen was the guy Rivers turned to when he needed a play. Seventh in third-down conversions this year, Allen converted 55 percent of his third-down targets into first downs, which was only topped by Tony Gonzalez and Anquan Boldin.
I agree. Posted it somewhere else. He has as much talent as anyone Ive ever seen, but some think he's this unreal WR. He a very unpolished WR. And if he turns out to be a ST or gimmick guy, hes a bust. Hopefully Norv has plans of making him our #1 WR, but im betting Simpson still is at the end of the year, even missing however games hes going to miss. Its like Cassel and Ponder only have eyes for him.NextQuestion wrote:I love PA calling games but on his show the other day he said "Patterson looked like ROY out there in game 1". Didn't he have like 4 catches for 50 yards?
Moss, CC, and Jerry Rice couldn't have helped Ponder.NextQuestion wrote:Think Moss in his prime would of helped Ponder?
That's one of those "careful what you wish for" deals. The Vikings wanted a Harvin replacement, so they drafted a guy who did Harvin-like things in college, then they used him in exactly the same manner. Hopefully, this new coaching staff will have a little more imagination.Funkytown wrote:is far more comparable to a plus-sized Percy Harvin
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/fantasy-fo ... -pattersonPass intereference flags don't show up in Fantasy boxscores, but they help show a receiver's full contribution to his team. It's interesting to see which receivers stressed defenses the most.
Here were the 2013 leaders in drawing pass interference flags, based on yardage awarded:
Vincent Jackson: 124 yards, six flags
Cordarrelle Patterson: 119 yards, four flags
T.Y. Hilton: 103 yards, six flags
Antonio Brown: 97 yards, three flags
Torrey Smith: 93 yards, six flags
Larry Fitzgerald: 90 yards, five flags
Victor Cruz: 87 yards, four flags
Marlon Brown: 82 yards, three flags
Dwayne Bowe: 74 yards, seven flags
Patterson ranked second despite getting 78 targets, fewer than half of Jackson's 159. It's another indication of Patterson's big-play ability...
Very interesting! Thanks for posting that...Funkytown wrote:Another Reason To Like Cordarrelle Patterson: Pass Interference Flags/Penalty Yards.
