Is the NFL Real Sport or Simply Entertainment?

Re: Is the NFL Real Sport or Simply Entertainment?
The NFL makes too much money as a whole to even consider rigging it. Sure, it may seem like it sometimes (like that Ravens/Vikings game this year), but there's zero chance that it's rigged in any fashion. Some people might say that the NFL might eventually hit a decline in popularity...but only one thing could actually KILL the NFL...and that would be to find out that games were rigged.

That AP-Gfk poll is interesting. Viewership this past season has been the highest for the NFL in its entire history. Did the poll say how they defined the term 'fan?'Funkytown wrote: Adding to this...

A Randy Moss fan for life. A Kevin Williams fan for life.

Tuck rule after 9-11 to get THE PATRIOTS in the superbowl. Mighty iffy there. All the refs seem to favor the pats, cowboys, steelers, saints or whoever sells the most jerseys that week. I think there is "Something" there. Not as bad as the NBA but well on it's way. The packers Dbacks have held players on routes for years and get away with it. Now it's the seahawks. Call a fair game refs.

The NFL, ownership, referees, it's all the same answer. Either a fan believes or does not believe games are slanted. We all feel it at times when our teams lose, but is there real proof? I'd say the Pittsburgh/Seattle Super Bowl was proof enough. Phantom calls/bad call or better yet, obvious-horrible calls are replayed to everyone's satisfaction, regardless which sideline is revered. Remember Minnesota/Baltimore this year? Some calls were blatant...but then again, what do I know!?
