We do this situation -- and our society -- a disservice by focusing on Richie Incognito. The problem is the culture that allows a Richie Incognito to be a leader in an adult work environment.

I just listened to interviews of other Dolphins, including our own Bryant McKinnie. I feel sorry for any legitimately intelligent and sensitive soul who has to hang out with these morons, most of whom probably don't even have a clue why some of us find the whole idea of hazing to be disgusting.

As long as hazing is tolerated, there will be Incognitos, for it is pretty hard to draw the line between what is "acceptable" hazing and what is immoral hazing. Frankly, I don't have much of an appreciation for any kind of hazing. What is the upside? Do people consider that to be funny? As a guy who is brought up on Jewish humor, mostly we laugh at ourselves. We don't humiliate others. Sure, I've laughed with Don Rickles, but I cannot imagine that that guy would abuse the same person over and over again. And if he did, he wouldn't be funny -- he'd just be a horse's as s.

Miami Dolphins coaches asked player Richie Incognito, who was the offensive line's undisputed leader, to toughen up teammate Jonathan Martin after he missed a voluntary workout last spring, at least two sources told the Sun Sentinel....

...Sources say that communication took place when Martin skipped two days of the team's OTA program, and Incognito was encouraged by his coaches to make a call that would "get him into the fold," one source said.

Even though OTA workouts are voluntary, the NFL culture forces coaches to strong arm the team's leaders to make sure everyone attends. Sources say Incognito was doing his job, but they admit he crossed the line.
