Tim Tebow - QB - Patriots
ESPN's Mike Reiss confirms that "no one should be surprised" if Tim Tebow isn't on the Patriots' final roster.
Contract details aren't available yet, but we're expecting a one-year deal for the fourth-year minimum. That would make it very easy for the Patriots to simply move on if they don't like what they see from Tebow. Reiss also confirms that the team remains "high" on backup Ryan Mallett. Coach Bill Belichick is set to address the media at 10:45 a.m. ET on Tuesday.

He seems like a great kid and I hope the best for him. However, I would never want the media circus that accompanies this so-so back up QB. I gotta bet even Tom Brady is going to get sick of answering Tebow questions. The press just can't help themselves. Sometime I think this might just be Belechick showing off his control over the team.

I suspect the Patriots will manage to shut down the media circus to the degree that it can be shut down. Belichick, Brady and co. will probably be able to handle this situation as the Jets never could. As long as Brady stays healthy, Tebow will rapidly become a non-story. If he gets hurt, it will take all of 5 seconds for the media to start up talk about Tebow starting!

Tim Tebow - QB - Patriots
Tim Tebow's two-year contract with the Patriots contains no guaranteed money.
A couple weeks ago, Tebow's only suitors were the Philadelphia Soul (as a backup), Omaha Beef and the CFL. So it's no surprise that he's settled for a team-friendly deal in New England. The Patriots can cut him at any time without any financial implications. Meanwhile, ESPN's Adam Schefter reiterates that Tebow will play quarterback, but Tom Brady "will not lose a play." Tebow was not signed to run the Wildcat.

Tim Tebow - QB - Patriots
Coach Bill Belichick declined Tuesday to comment on what position Tim Tebow will play.
As expected, Belichick revealed no information and gave no insight into the Tebow signing. "What position? We're going to do what's best for the football team," Belichick said. He cut the press conference off on his own after getting fed up with too many Tebow questions. "Tim's a talented player that's smart and works hard. We'll see how it goes." ESPN is reporting that Tebow was signed to play quarterback. CBS' Mike Freeman says he'll be used elsewhere in addition to under center.

I know they will try. But, like I said, the press just cant help themselves. I've never seen so much coverage for a 3rd string QB signing. It should be interesting.

The press do seem beyond obsessed with the guy. It's ridiculous. My guess is the Pats just won't have the patience or inclination to answer many questions and as the stream of info trickles down to nothing, the questions will slowly go away. That might not happen though. Maybe the obsession with Tebow is too deep!

Good for Tebow. Now he the chance to learn behind one of the best QBs in the league and work behind one of the best coaches in the league. I hope it works out for him.

I guess the pats are the only team that thinks selling jerseys and tickets is a good thing.
I's just puzzled why tim tebow was out of work while blaine gabbert wasn't.

Meh, he receives no guaranteed money and therefore can be cut at anytime. They essentially get to kick the tires for free, if they see something then he stays on, if not, they move on. Sounds like a pretty good signing to me.

Seems to me like it's a no risk look at the Guy. I still don't think he'll ever be a starting QB in the league again. But he could always become a socialite full time.

It would be so nice to see Tebow lead a team into the playoffs...AGAIN!

Being in a Playoff game is not the same as leading your team there. The D put that Bronco team in the playoffs...

I guess Tebow must know how Ponder feels...no credit no matter what!
Addendum: Admittedly, I'm no Ponder fan, anymore.

....... Yes... Because Ponder basically strapped a saddle on AP and rode him to the playoffs..... Kinda like Tebow did with his D.
