I'm kind of wondering about Musgrave's 2TE set as well. Certainly if the Vikings get a guy like Cook, they can probably do it. But is that better than getting a talent upgrade at WR and going with more 3WR sets?mondry wrote: If anyone, it'd have to be Bowe then and he's still going to fetch a decent deal. The WR's after that are either slot guys like wes welker, or guys who won't do much on the Vikings like josh cribbs or ogeltree.
I would say they should very well be considering drafting one with the 1st or 2nd pick this year, then perhaps look at TE in FA. Jared Cook would be a nice addition if they could get him away from TEN, he's similar to rudolph in size, but maybe I'm just dreaming there. Musgrave's 2 TE set offense may be dead anyway or maybe we just need someone better than carleson to pull it off.
It's hard to say. I think New England is a good example of how a 2 TE set with a guy like Harvin (welker) is pretty potent. Even so they still need a better WR for the outside anyway so they would need to spend a 1st or 2nd rounder on one. Ideally there are times when you'd probably want to be able to run both! Either way, need better receivers regardless.losperros wrote:

I completely agree that there has to be upgrading among the Vikings WRs no matter what.mondry wrote: It's hard to say. I would call Buffalo about Ryan Fitzpatrick, and see if a 3rd would work. I would also call Dallas, see if they are all in with Romo. Id even look at Flynn in Seattle, or Kolb in Arizona. Id leave no stone unturned. They wont develop Webb, who could grow into the spot, but he hasn't been given a season to learn to attack a defense. Ponder is inexcusable, not even backup quality. Arm too weak, footwork is horendous, decision making brutal. This has to be addressed, give up on a 2nd year guy, absolutely!
I never said give a 3rd for Kolb, I said a 3rd for Fitzpatrick. Didn't speculate a price, for the others. Kolb is a 5th maybe, if AZ drafts Barkley. And Kolb isn't great, he's average, that would have been enough vs Green Bay.80 PurplePride 84 wrote: So now we're giving away 3rds for mediocre QBs? Kolb is terrible.
I'd rather use that 3rd on someone like Ryan Nassib or EJ Manuel and hope we get lucky like SEA did with Wilson than trade that pick for known mediocrity.
Exactly. And sign someone, anyone, who's available in free agency. No use wasting picks on these guys who've shown they're average...for non-injury reasons. No reason to give up picks for a stop-gap. Bad enough we have to resort to a stop-gap again because of these clowns.80 PurplePride 84 wrote: So now we're giving away 3rds for mediocre QBs? Kolb is terrible.
