That would not be fair at all. Williams is an all pro at a prime position. Rudy carries a big cap number, one he currently shouldn’t have IMO and is well past his prime. I don’t see how in any way that trade would be fairRandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 2:33 pmThat would be fair but Vikings will need to draft another tight end to team up with IrvFrozen Rope wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 2:26 pm
Washington is in need of a tight end. How about Rudy for TW? Straight up trade.

Re: Trent Williams
I think Rudy is still quite good and he came up HUGE for us last year despite his limited yards. However not fair straight up for Williams. With Williams the question is will he be worth what we have to pay.Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 5:27 pmThat would not be fair at all. Williams is an all pro at a prime position. I totally agree PHP, but that would be the cost of trading up to 2. That's why we shouldn't consider it.Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 5:26 pmTo give up 3 first round picks and an elite safety for #2? To draft what? Chase young? We have way too many holes and by trading all those picks away, it would drastically put us behind because not only are we low on cap but we would be trading away all of our draft capital.

Re: Trent Williams
Not at all the way it works nor does that make it a fair trade. Matt Schaub and Tom Brady are both past their prime. Doing a straight up trade of those two would be fair because they are both past their prime? No. This trade isn’t fair because Williams performs at a much better and higher level than Rudy does. No less, LT is much more prime position than TE.RandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 6:39 pmBoth are past their prime so it is a fair tradePondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 5:27 pm

So you are saying that if the trade happens, it is robbery for Vikings? If so, you should not complain about itPondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 7:35 pmNot at all the way it works nor does that make it a fair trade. Who said I would complain? It would just show how stupid Washington is. Regardless, it’s not a trade that would ever be considered or ever happen for that matterRandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 7:55 pmSo you are saying that if the trade happens, it is robbery for Vikings? Trent is not going to play for Washington. We may not get him, but the other two suitors are the Jets and the Browns. Rudy could be a starting point. Throw in Efflan and a 7th rounder. I believe Bowhunters friend. I think the discussions are underway. It comes down to how rich the deal would be and whether we could afford him. It would be interesting to know if he’s had any contact with Kirk.RandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 8:55 pmWell, Washington has always been stupid in management so do not be surprised if it happensPondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 8:50 pm

Looking at the three franchises, Cleveland is almost as dysfunctional as Washington and playing in the cold weather. He knows all this. And then you have the jets.....no thanks. A 32 year old all pro wants to win and would relish playing here. The question is does the prospect of playing for the Vikings incentive enough for him to make concessions. He knows Kirk took 6M less to sign with us over the Jets.
Please don’t anyone make comparisons about Cousins salary and being overpaid. Trent is fully aware of everything. He wants a shot at a ring. How much does that figure into the equation. It’s a big factor. We will know soon.

Re: Trent Williams
They need to do it...This rendition of the Vikings is ride or die with this GM/HC tenure...Trade a 1st for him, grab Epenesa with the other, hopefully spin Anthony Harris for more draft capital, take Winfield Jr. With an early 2nd, go WR afterwards in what is a WR-heavy draft.

Re: Trent Williams
Frozen Rope you are exactly right there Trent Williams is NEVER going to play a down as a Redskin ever again. That relationship has been fractured beyond repair. I know that stuff has been reported about that in the media since last year, but believe me they haven't scratched the surface on his feelings about the Skins organization.Frozen Rope wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 10:35 pmTrent is not going to play for Washington. I guarantee you , from my conversations with my friend and his conversations with Wiliams , that Williams just wants to get away from Washington, move on and continue to play. From what I've been told, he has been very intelligent with his earnings , so it's not all about the money for him. The guy just still has confidence in his ability to play at a high level, but has a total distrust of his team , from the front office down to , and especially, the medical staff, who he truly believes put his long term health in jeopardy by bad diagnoses and poor care.
The guy still has the confidence that he can play at a high level, and wants to keep playing , he just has no desire to spend any more time as a Redskin.
I got a text last night that the talks are going on, but it will probably be closer to the draft until the move is finally made. And yes the Vikings are definitely in the mix. Gonna be interesting.
I just wanna die as a Super Bowl Champion Viking Fan!!

Never claimed to be but that’s like the Vikings trying to trade Chad greenway. It was never going to happen. They’ve been on this team their whole career, are leaders and have gigantic impacts in this community. And regardless he carries very minimal trade value given his age and cap numberRandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 11:59 pmI never knew you are part of Vikings managementPondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 11:03 pm

I don't think it is a leadership thing as much as a business decision. Greenway was, and Rudy is, good for business. In the end that is what the Vikings are, a business.Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 7:47 amNever claimed to be but that’s like the Vikings trying to trade Chad greenway.
