53 Man Roster --predictions and developments

Post by Texas Vike »

It's time to make predictions and collate those of media / sports writers / podcasters... and then have a place for reactions to the team's decisions.

Here is what the folks at Dailynorseman think: https://www.dailynorseman.com/2022/8/28 ... 3-forecast

I personally think Schlottmann makes the cut, given the uncertainty with Bradbury and the fact that Schlottmann has looked decent in preseason.

I am also surprised by their WR forecast. Chisena over Jackson or Mitchell? Seems odd. Chisena was also held out of the Broncos game due to injury, so that may play into the decision here.

Preseason standout Ty McGill was just cut proving yet again that preseason success means nothing.

Some chatter on #Vikings RB Alexander Mattison, I'm told per league sources, while Minnesota isn't actively shopping him, the team is certainly listening to offers. #NFL

Yeah, I wonder if they hope to get him back to the PS? I get that preseason production can be overvalued by fans (a la Sloter), but he just looked fantastic. It wasn't just the sacks, he consistently got pressure up the middle. I wonder if in practice (against ones and twos) he didn't look as good?

I really want Brandel over Udoh, Udoh has proved nothing butt a pile of poo. Brandel should get any reps where the Vikes might have had to use Udoh.

I would like Mond to start out on the PS. I would really enjoy seeing Mannion gone, and hope he lands in the NFC somewhere so we can play against him. And with Vikings luck, he would win. As the saying goes, preseason means nothing.

And, ofc, Schlott. We need a backup C as much as any position, since it seems Tretter is out of the choices.

McGill looked good, i am betting he makes the PS.

McGill is definitely the DL version of Sloter. I would love to have Sloter as our QB3 behind Mullens. It would be so much fun having Captain Kirk and Sgt. Sloter.

I thought he would make the team due to his diving catch against the Raiders but I guess not

Can't imagine we'd get more than a 6th or 7th rounder for him.

Doogie is reporting that it'd be for a 3rd or 4th.

Keep in mind that we'd likely get a compensatory pick for him (6th is what I hear) if he walks after this season.

Well we gave up a 7th if Mullens plays, and odds are he will, at QB2. So I would say a 5th for Marri would be a decent trade. Plus I want to see what Chandler has. He looks like a great RB, I hope he is smart enough to learn the plays and spell Cook.

*edit* didnt see Texas post. A 3rd would be awesome. Maybe pick up a decent center with that.
