Rookie Mini-Camp

Post by VikingsVictorious »

As far as I know we've always had one of these. Did COVID cause it to be abandoned a time or two? Are we having one this year? I sure hope so. Assuming this will happen this is the place to talk about it.

EAGAN, Minn. — Just like that, half of Minnesota's 10-player class from the 2022 NFL Draft has signed.

The Vikings on Thursday announced first-round pick Lewis Cine, fifth-rounders Esezi Otomewo and Ty Chandler, sixth-round selection Jalen Nailor and seventh-rounder Nick Muse have signed their contracts.

The players arrived at Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center on the eve of participating in the team's rookie minicamp this weekend.
Ed Ingram and Brian Asamoah are going to report with injury insurance. We still need to work things out with Booth, Evans, and Lowe.
All UDFAs should be there plus camp invites and a possible young veteran or two. I'm guessing Kellen Mond might be there.

Mini-camp has probably already started. Go Vikings. I'll be looking for pictures and articles to share here, but some of you who are much better at that than me should pitch in and it would be very appreciated.

Lowe signed today so that leaves Booth and Evans not attending and Ingram and Asamoah attending, but still not signed. I'm hoping Mond will be there for sure.

All rookies will be in camp. YES.

Today marks the start of the Minnesota Vikings’ first rookie mini-camp of the offseason, and they now have a majority of their 2022 draft class under contract.

In addition to first-round pick Lewis Cine, who signed his contract on Wednesday, the Vikings have agreed to terms with five more of their picks. They have agreed to terms with

DE Esezi Otomewo
RB Ty Chandler
OT Vederian Lowe
WR Jalen Nailor
TE Nick Muse
The Vikings’ other four draft choices. . .CB Andrew Booth Jr., OL Ed Ingram, LB Brian Asamoah, and CB Akayleb Evans. . .have not yet agreed to terms and will be participating in this weekend’s mini-camp under an injury protection agreement.

Following this weekend’s rookie mini-camp, the team will have three different sets of Organized Team Activities over the next few weeks.

16, 17, and 19 May
23, 24, and 26 May
31 May - 3 June
After that, the team’s Mandatory Mini-Camp will take place from 7-9 June, and that will be pretty much it until Training Camp starts in late July.

While the Organized Team Activities are not mandatory, it’s hard to imagine a lot of players will be skipping them with a new coach and a new system being installed. They might not get 100% attendance at all of the sessions, but a vast majority of players are going to be there.

Brett Hundley is the guy Zim shut out against the Packers. I thought he was long gone.

KOC threw a ceremonial pitch at a twins game. He probably has a better arm than our backup QBs.

"I think it's just a matter, at that point, they'd be sitting in a hotel, maybe we could get them together for a meal, but why not get them out in the community here from the jump?" O'Connell said Friday.

Luigi Vilain was a star in Rookie camp and people think he could make the 53 man roster.
