Draft Day thread

I want to talk about a common happening after drafts that happens with the fans of every team. When fans start off with a very negative perception of what their favorite team has done they start hearing all the wonderful things about the pick and watch the highlights and hear why the trade was good and they want to feel good again. They talk themselves into believing all the positive spin. I know this because I have done this on several occasions. Most of us are susceptible to this. Some of us may be immune, but those people are very much in the minority.

Or maybe, Dr. Phil, people look into actual scouting reports and find out that they really didn’t know anything about the player. That they aren’t the experts they thought they were. You should try it sometime.

I actually hate this trade less than last night but good grief, the Packers...

As far as Draft value we fleeced them. However, I really like Watson and would have picked him for ourselves with that pick.

I have no problem at all trading with a division rival. Somebody is going to get the better of the other team. I just need the team getting the better to be us.

This trade was less awful. Probably some QBs will go that the Vikings don't want anyway, and they could trade back up with all their current ammo. If I had any confidence that we haven't reduced out scouting department to arbitrarily grouping players in groups of 50 "equal" prospects, I'd feel better about the Vikings having an actual plan.

Amazing how no NFL team has interest in Malik Willis.

He sounds like a player with a lot of athletici ability, needs work. Given the Vikings QB situation, seems like he'd be a perfect pick for them, if he falls that far.
