Fun fact, Mason Crosby has missed more field goals than anyone else this season.

their D was flaky last season so still think there are weaknesses there
They just posted a shut out. That's not easy against against any QB but this was Wilson. Mahomes sucked also 13 points. That's two good back to back efforts.
recency bias maybe i dont see any major differences from last year with the run D.

The Chicago Bulls fired Phil Jackson after winning their sixth NBA Championship so it's definitely not out of the realm of possibility in the modern day

Wut.

Joseph so far is 19/23 on the year, which is 82.6% around average, maybe slightly below it, but he's kicked us several possible game winners outside of the one he missed against the Cardinals.

Mason Crosby on the other hand is 14/21, an abysmal 66.7%.

So Joseph has been average, but Crosby has been flat out awful. No comparison.

Yeah but Kruse fired Jackson because he was unhappy that he is not getting any credit so that is different

Kruse is a #### hack anyways and as soon as Jackson was gone the team went to utter #### without Jordan.

So maybe he didn't really deserve as much credit.

Minnesota has truly gone through a pretty mind boggling number of head coaches who are awful but the talent around them continued to save them: Tice, Childress, Frazier

Childress was not that bad of a head coach, yeah, he is a #### but he won 2 division titles and has a winning record unlike Tice and Frazier

Ahem:

Childress was 6-10 in his first season in 2006. That was with a great defense, consisting of an early version of the Williams Wall: Pat Williams, Kevin Williams, Kenechi Udeze (who I will brook no disrespect towards, the man was a great player before a rare illness forced his retirement), and Ray Edwards (another very good player). There was also E.J. Henderson entering his prime, Napoleon Harris, Ben Leber, and a rookie Chad Greenway (who yes, was injured before the season). The back corps was Antoine Winfield Sr., Darren Sharper (yes, a rapist, but a great player), and Cedric Griffin. The offense was awful and led by Brad Johnson and Chester Taylor, two very good players in their own right, but not game-changers. I mean, Troy Williamson was still a #### wide receiver in 2006... also the offensive line was still excellent. That's the worst part about 2006; overall, the Vikings dominated the trenches, on defense, and even special teams, but the skill players were ####. That's why they went 6-10; their defense allowed fewer than 1,000 rushing yards, and their offensive line could move defenses out of the way, but their receiving corps was just awful and Childress didn't know how to coach around that. You put any really good coach and I have no doubt they'd be able to coach up some of those bad receivers.

Childress followed up by going 8-8 in 2007, thanks to Adrian Peterson being a game-changing and Hall of Fame running back. Tarvaris Jackson played and he was not ready to be a starting quarterback, and it was apparent. The only major differences are Ray Edwards being suspended and eventually upended by Brian Robison, and Sidney Rice coming into the league. The defense, offensive line, and special teams don't change at all. Even with Adrian Peterson and now a good WR in Rice, he still manages only 8 wins?

The next year, 2008, was a perfect storm. Gus Frerrote's last great year. Adrian Peterson doing what he does. Bernard Berrian joining the Vikings and helping Rice grow more. Offensive line: Same. Defensive Line: Jared Allen, the game-changer. Linebacking corps: Erin Henderson. Defensive Backs: Madieu Williams. How do you not go 10-6 with that team? Any better coach could have won the Super Bowl, frankly, with that team.

2009: Brett Favre. That's why Childress won a second division title and nearly went to the Super Bowl. And Favre strongly disliked Childress. 13-3 is a good record but Childress and Favre constantly ground against one another.

2010: Everything fell off a cliff and when Favre got injured, Childress's incompetence showed for everyone to see. 3-7 with basically the same team. You can argue injuries piled up, but injuries are a part of the game, and the Vikings had Percy Harvin, Sidney Rice, and Bernard Berrian. Tarvaris Jackson should have been able to do gang-busters with that corps.

Either way you slice it, you can't really convince me that Childress was a good coach, but rather a coach who was elevated by the circumstances and players around him until the going got tough and Childress didn't show up.

Jefferson should have scored. That type of play is really mind numbing and pisses me off. That's not winning football in my book. Celebrate after you score. Make the catch and head for the house full speed. Raising your arm takes away speed. Cousins is a loser but that's a loser also. Yes Cook banged it in. A team will never win with guys not taking it seriously.
