Aaron Rodgers... Think he's out of GB
A little off topic with the draft going on but it looks like Rodgers wants out. That would be a nice break unless this Love turns out to be HOFer No 3 in a row for this BS team. No team can get that lucky. Then it's the same #### for the next 15 years and proves why you take a QB even if you have a top starter in place. This will make things a little uncomfortable in title town. I don't see how they straighten it out. See how that HC does with a less than stellar QB.

Truthfully I wish he was. Actually wish he was out of the league and hosting Jeopardy from here on out, and not doing State Farm commercials. I don't watch Jeopardy at all anymore, am SO sick of Erin, and would be thrilled to not have to see him ever againCharVike wrote: ↑Fri Apr 30, 2021 12:15 pm A little off topic with the draft going on but it looks like Rodgers wants out. She just likes to cry and draw attention to herself every once in awhile. When the lights come on week one she'll be under center for the John Deeres.

Been beating that drum for as long as I can remember. Rick clearly has the picks to take a mid-round risk this year. I don't think he will because I don't think he's learned but I guess we'll find out in a few hours.CharVike wrote: ↑Fri Apr 30, 2021 12:15 pm A little off topic with the draft going on but it looks like Rodgers wants out. Re: Aaron Rodgers... Think he's out of GB
So ... what reputable source is saying he’s out of Green Bay? Am I missing something?
I’ve heard the annual “I’m not happy” rumors from Rodgers. I’ve also heard the annual “Erin is our quarterback” responses from guttenheimer or whatever his name is.

I didn't realize he does this every year. He'll be there at least 5 more years maybe more. He's certainly not showing any wear and tear.J. Kapp 11 wrote: ↑Sat May 01, 2021 6:13 pm So ... what reputable source is saying he’s out of Green Bay? Am I missing something?

Re: Aaron Rodgers... Think he's out of GB
Probably just a contract ploy. He found out he is making less than Kirk and thought it was just as absurd as I think it is.
It is funny how Rodgers gets a pass for these stunts he pulls while other QBs dont. What a great teammate...

Mark Schlareth apparently said the Broncos were very close to trading for him but it has to wait until after June 1st because of cap ramifications. I would bet he's still in GB though unless he continues to publicly make noise.

You pit Rodgers on that Bronco team and it would put them in contention. But I agree Rodgers isn't going anywhere. As most have said this is just Rodgers same old stuff.Maelstrom88 wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 11:01 am Mark Schlareth apparently said the Broncos were very close to trading for him but it has to wait until after June 1st because of cap ramifications. Re: Aaron Rodgers... Think he's out of GB
People are starting to turn on Rodgers, but not enough imo.
Comparing Rodgers attitude to what Brady's was in a similar situation and it is clear Rodgers is all about himself.
Pats spend a 2nd round pick on Brady's replacement, he wins a couple of SBs
Packers spend a 1st round pick on Rodgers' replacement, he whines and pouts and fails to win it all.
Brady takes a pay cut so the Patriots can build a better team to win it all, Rodgers has 3 years left on the largest contract in history (at the time) and is complaining because he wants a raise. All the while also complaining about the Packers not putting a good enough team around him to win it all, which they can't do because of his already massive contract.
Brady and Bill don't always see eye to eye, but Brady never throws his coach under the bus and he plays harder when he doesn't necessarily agree with the coaches decisions. Rodgers pouted, played poorly and eventually got his coach fired.
Rodgers is all about himself and I pity the team that trades 3 1st round picks for him, only to have him pull this same crap in 2022.

Heck, put Rodgers on the Vikings and he puts US in contention. But contention is a far cry from winning a title. We were contenders in '09 and '17.CharVike wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 11:00 pmYou pit Rodgers on that Bronco team and it would put them in contention. But I agree Rodgers isn't going anywhere. I think it's fair to compare Rodgers to Tom Brady. Truth is, I never really thought that much of Tom Brady before 2020. I figured he was an average talent who worked to get better. I saw him as a guy who made the most of a good situation and rode the coattails of Bill Belichick. But after watching what Brady did in Tampa, I believe it was the other way around. I think maybe Belichick was doing the coattail-riding. Brady has done nothing but win, from the day he took his first snap. Belichick did nothing before Brady, and he's done nothing since. What I saw in Brady last year was pretty remarkable. A guy who went to a new team, needing to prove he wasn't just a passenger on the Billy B Train. At first, he went through some growing pains, but he put the team ahead of himself, worked through it, and walked away with the prize. You have to respect the heck out of what he accomplished. Now his team is No. 1 in the preseason power rankings, and the guy is going to be 44.
Rodgers? Yeah, he's won a Super Bowl. That was back when he was young and actually cared about the team. Given his me-first attitude, I'd be shocked if he wins another one for any team. But I wouldn't mind seeing him leave the division. The Pukers are also-rans without him.

Go ahead. I dare you.

Re: Aaron Rodgers... Think he's out of GB
Brady is truly a magical story. The guy has a drive like no other that has played the game. He could be at home with his feet kicked up enjoying life. But this is what he enjoys the most. The competition. And he has faced getting pushed back and knocked his entire athletic life. He thrives on that. Having that challenge keeps him ticking. Good for him. He should have been the MVP last year. No player in the game ever did what he did. He took a sub 500 squad from wild card to Champ at 43. It don't get much harder than that. I never thought to much about Bill B and always placed him as a guy that dominated a joke division his whole life. But the guys a heck of a coach. I think Brady winning the Super Bowl has lite a fire under his arse. He's competitive and wants to show he can do it without Brady. He's been active this year. I'm not putting anything past him. He doesn't have a chance with inaccurate Cam but he made a pick to change that. Rodgers he appears to be a diva type but the guy is a competitor. He also took it on the chin when drafted. Probable top 2 pick to the big time slide. He's old to playing this game. Late 30s and getting banged by these guys is hard to take. At 22 it's hard to take. I'm an old man and 37 seems like a kid but in the pro world of football you're a grandpa. Brady is the great grandpa. If I were to bet Rodgers won't win another Super Bowl. That's an easy bet. But he will win the division the next x number of years which puts him in the chase and that's why I want him out. Otherwise we are stuck in the wildcard hunt until I pass on. And with the Bears in full throttle mode and getting the mobile QB we need to kick it up big time just for a wild card hope. But and you posted it Rodgers isn't going anywhere. He's looking for the media stroke job for the ego pain. I'm sick of it but no end in sight at this point. He's in Packer land for another decade I guess. 47 is not of the charts based on what Brady is doing.J. I'm likely the minority here but I almost always side with the players in these situations. Even Packer players.J. I think the Packers have completely wasted one of the best qb's I have seen in my life by refusing to help him. I wouldn't blame Rodgers one bit to get out of that situation.
In regards to the player vs. coach discussion, I have always been of the belief that players are way more important than coaches. Don't get me wrong, some coaches are much better than others and Belichick is a brilliant one. But no amount of coaching replaces star qb's and loaded rosters. It's why every single one I can think of that has won it all had either an absolute stud at qb or a loaded defense. Sometimes both.
Put Rodgers on damn near every team with a better than average offense or a great defense and they are immediate contenders to win it all.
In the end you need to have it all though. Great coaching and elite qb's is the dream scenario for any franchise in football.
i'm ready for a beer.

No doubt Rodgers makes just about any team at least a contender, I don't think that is a question.vikeinmontana wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 12:18 pmI'm likely the minority here but I almost always side with the players in these situations.
