Interesting little run on 2nd tier QBs. Like the Mond pick, not sure what his ceiling is, may never exceed good backup, but should be better than the current backups even given they have a some time in the system

I was extremely confident that one of Mills, Mond or Trask would be available. I wanted Mills. I hope I am wrong and Mond is the better choice.

There is a lot to question about Mond, but on the bright side he can sit and learn and hopefully improve.

He's definitely a QB prospect in the mold of the more mobile running threat, but if I had to bet which of the three of Trask, Mills and Mond will have the best overall careers as pros I'd go with them in that order.

A lot depends on how hard Mond wants to work to improve. If he puts the time and effort into getting better and uses the time he has wisely he's got a good chance of becoming a long term answer at QB for the Vikings.

They pulled a Denny Green and used this pick as a freebie. They have too many holes to be doing this but I guess they really liked Mond or panicked when Trask went. Thank God they didn’t deal up for him
They have too many holes? DE and guard? Not many holes outside of depth. And one “hole” was backup QB

I wanted Perkins too :wallbang:
Good chance Perkins is still there at 78. Would be good value to get him at that spot.

He needs to work on his mechanics but I think that's why this is the perfect spot for him. Watch some of his games against the good SEC teams, he's placing balls in the smallest windows. He has a really quick release too.

Quarterback is the one position I believe in go big or go home. I am never a fan of building a guy up

Perkins would be a steal at #78

Chris Simms who I greatly respect has Mond as the 4th best QB in this draft. 20th overall. If he's right we got a mega steal.
