I am baffled about how the Vikings every let CP out the door. He has a team friendly cap and his value as a KR/Gunner was tremendous. His recent replacement Oursbourne is atrocious.
Anyone care to guess how many total PR yards we have on the season. Regardless of your guess, I wager you could have more on the season than this guy that's being groom to do so. This is awful and a huge reason we have such terrible field position. How are the Vikings not on the phone to Marcus Sherls?

Yeah, it's pretty pathetic.
Sherels did a good job for us, but he's 33 and wasn't good for either Miami or us last year. I suppose it wouldn't be hard to outperform Osborn. I guess I'm like you. I long for the days of Percy Harvin and Cordarelle Patterson. Or 2016 Sherels who ran two punts back for TDs.

Go ahead. I dare you.
Underestimate this man.

Totally agree. I've seen enough from Osborn.

Well I hate to do this, but this one quote from Zim on CP almost caused me to get signs made and picket for his firing:YikesVikes wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 1:05 pm I am baffled about how the Vikings every let CP out the door.
From 2018 https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/253 ... ikings-did
Coach Mike Zimmer had a what-could-have-been thought as he studied New England Patriots wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson in advance of Sunday's highly anticipated matchup between the teams.
"Quite honestly, they're using him way better than we did," Zimmer said. "I wish we would have used him a little better."
“We obviously knew how talented he was here as well, but we didn't get him the ball enough in a lot of those ways that they're using him.
"Honestly, since I've been watching him on tape, I'm going to put that in the back of my mind if we ever get a guy like this again. ... That we can use him in much better ways."
Almost broke me. Zim had 24 years in the NFL under his belt at the time of the above comments.

A lot of what he did in the early days was to hand off the offense to the OC and he managed the defense.psjordan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 24, 2020 8:36 pmWell I hate to do this, but this one quote from Zim on CP almost caused me to get signs made and picket for his firing:YikesVikes wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 1:05 pm I am baffled about how the Vikings every let CP out the door.

Re: The KR/PR Mystery
I know you are just observing and not selling anything, but I don't buy it for one split second. Zim was/is an NFL coach and in fact had been in the league for 24 years at that point. I would think a coach in the league for 24 minutes, even if they only coached the backup holder on FG's, could determine CP had talent with the ball in his hands.YikesVikes wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 4:22 pm A lot of what he did in the early days was to hand off the offense to the OC and he managed the defense.
And for goodness sake, how many ways are there in the game of US football to use a talented player with the ball in his hands? Five? I would think the quality control coach in charge of footwear could imagine his way through those five scenarios in his spare time.
No, the only plausible explanation for letting him go, I thought at the time, was off-the-field issues. He didn't stick in NE which surprised me, but I have heard zero about him being a locker room/off-the-field problem. Does not mean that is not the case.
I guess at some point you may not be worth the money your agent is demanding? but his case remains a mystery to me (and apparently to Zim). CP's been productive in several ways for several teams, not something that usually happens in the NFL.

Sometimes it's personal. Like CPbwas always smiling and pleasent. Sometimes people do not like that jovial be sure when losing.
