Trip to see Two Minute Tommy
Sorry it’s taken me so long to get an update posted on here. I drove 17.5 hours from New York to Minnesota to bring a Vikings epoxy vanity, packers urinal and SKOL wall mount to former Vikings QB Tommy Kramer.
We ended up spending 2 days with them, stayed at their place and also met former RB Rickey Young who was with us the whole time as well. I will say, these two are just awesome guys. Listening to their stories and such, playing 2 rounds of golf with them, having some drinks and laughs made the trip well worth it.
They invited me to come down anytime for a game and stay with them (if we ever have fans again). They are going to hook me up with tickets and also said that there are 4 suites reserved in the stadium for former players and Tommy will get me in with him, free booze and food and I can meet plenty of other legends.
So day 1, I got there Friday and stayed at their new house which was absolutely unreal by the way. They had an $8,000 massage chair in the middle of the living room. Tried it out and might sell my truck to buy one of those haha. We ended up going over to a local bar/restaurant near their house, had some drinks and went out and played 18 holes together. Then went back to the bar and stayed until about 1am playing pull tabs and having some laughs.
Day 2 I went and played 9 holes with them and rode in the cart with Tommy. Most humble, laid back guy I’ve ever met. The guy definitely knows how to knock back some beers. That night we went to another bar and played more pull tabs and got pretty loaded. Went back to the house with them and they turned on the Monday night football game against Dallas (where Dorsett ran for a 99 yard TD). Tommy actually threw the game winning TD to Rickey that game. And those guys get battling all the time whether it was a good pass or not haha. Got some hilarious videos on my phone of Rickey and tommy going back and forth over the pass. The last day they ended up signing jerseys, pictures, cards, footballs, etc for me and my two boys.
They kept saying they loved hanging out with us because we treated them like regular people and didn’t hound them. Tommy actually posted on his Facebook a picture of all of us saying they enjoyed their time with us and for people to check my business page out and place an order with me.
They also said that in a few weeks they are having a house warming party when the man cave gets finished and guys like John Randle, studwell, McMahon, Henry Thomas, etc are going to be there. They said they will FaceTime with me when those guys see what I made them. If I FaceTime with John Randle I literally might pass out from excitement.
So in the end, I’m hoping to keep a lifelong connection with them and go up and stay with them every year when we go to a game.
Our local news here in NY wants to do a special on the whole story and are meeting with me this week.
Also, a fun fact I never knew..... Rickey Young was Walter Payton’s college roommate all 4 years at Jackson St. He said he was an unbelievable guy.
I’ll post pictures and such here soon
