I consider you 100% wrong about Cousins shrinking in the face of adversity. I think it's very debatable regarding who is better right now. You think you know who is. It's OK for you to have an opinion, but just realize it's only an opinion.
You are ignoring the facts and that's cool. I live in the DC area and it has ALWAYS been the knock on the guy. He doesn't play his best When the chips are on the table. He is an excellent QB but he is not better than Brees and Brady right now.
There are no facts about this. Teams win and lose games. QB is one important cog, but they don't control who wins or loses.
I wouldn't say Cousins is for sure better, but IMO with their diminished skills he is now better than both of them. It's not a fact either way.

There are facts about this. Putting aside his record against winning teams, you can look at his stats in big spots and more often than not, he does wilt.
He has 249 pass attempts when down by a score or less in the 4th quarter since 2015, so a large sample size when all the chips are on the table.
In that situation his stats (rank among 60 qualifying QBs during that time):
Comp % 62.2 (19th)
11 TDs to 10 Ints (TD % 31st, Int % 43rd lowest)
7 YPA (32nd)
81 passer rating (32nd)
Its hard for me to get past this, like its hard for Jets fans to get past the Butt Fumble, or Redskins fans to past The Kneel Down. His leaping slide short of the sticks was another gem. He's kind of a dingbat. He's not the guy I'd want behind the wheel if the car in front of us had a blow out.

No goalpost moving. I see Cousins as a top 5 QB in the NFL. However, I can see that as being debatable so I added that I see him as a top 10 QB without question and it's just a matter of where he fits in the top 10. I would trade Cousins for Mahomes so I guess there is only one franchise QB in the NFL. Now maybe I wouldn't if Mahomes would be getting a $50 Million AAV contract that we couldn't afford. I personally see your definition getting to the point of BS. To me there is no debate that Mahomes is the single best QB. Now somebody might IMO be foolish enough to think it's Lamar Jackson. So with your declaration that under no circumstances would a team or it's fans approve of trading their QB guess what? There are zero franchise QBs, because if we had Mahomes and he's demanding $50 million a year I would trade him for Russell Wilson on a vet minimum contract.
If I understand your position, you believe only Mahomes is better than Cousins right now?
If you believe that, there really isn't much point in continuing this discussion as we're in two completely different universes when it comes to evaluating QBs. I look at stats and end results to inform my perspective, and based on those, Cousins is a top 15 QB in the NFL in most meaningful categories. He can crack the top 10 in some, but in others he's only top 20.
The fact that the Vikings are paying him as a top 5 QB doesn't change any of that, nor does it alter my opinion of him. If anything, the fact he's being paid like that lowers my opinion of Rick Spielman's competence as a GM as I believe the Vikings could get similar production out of the QB position for considerably less money.

You certainly don't understand my position. I've already declared Watson and Wilson as better. However they aren't franchise QBs because I would trade them both together for Mahomes. I would trade Mahomes based on contract though. My position is no QB is a franchise QB under your definition, because it includes not trading that QB for any other QB under any circumstances.

That was just a weird play, but he did what he should have done at the time. No problem with it. His worst plays of the season were the late interception against the Pukers when we had them on the ropes and the slide instead of getting the critical first down against KC.

There is no way that is what he should have done there.
It was a doomed play from the beginning, through no fault of Cousins, but throwing a pass to a RB like that is a good way to turn a bad play into a disaster. Nothing good was going to come of making that toss, and you actually see Murray put his arms up in surprise when Cousins kind of fakes a pass to him. More often than not, that throw results in more yards lost at best, with a scoop and score being one of the more likely scenarios.
