It's interesting that these reports come out today, the same day that reports of a trade for OBJ have been put to bed. I wonder if there's a connection?

I still think either team might have been floating the idea publicly to gage reaction.Texas Vike wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 5:24 pm It's interesting that these reports come out today, the same day that reports of a trade for OBJ have been put to bed. I wonder if there's a connection?

I mean if we can find a way to afford Harris, I’d rather have him than an unknownRandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 4:32 pm I guess Vikings are not drafting Winfield, well, it is nice to dream....

I'd like to see them find a way to keep him for at least another three years. He has played at a very high level and there is already been enough to turn over on this defense in one offseason.

Re: Vikings put franchise tag on Harris!!
Reports that Harris will sign long term with Vikings. If true could mean no Williams trade and no return of Everson Griffen as I don't know where we would find the money.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports unsigned Vikings franchise player Anthony Harris is in "no rush" to sign his tender.
Per reporter Chris Tomasson, Harris is committed to signing a long-term contract before the July 15 deadline. ESPN's Josina Anderson reported four days ago that the sides were making progress toward a pact. They have been in active discussions for some time now. This seems like a multi-year agreement that will actually get done.

FWIW, Spielman is asked about how confident he is Harris will be on the roster to start the season in the virtual press conference you can see on vikings.com. Says he isn't going to address that question. We'll see what happens.VikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2020 6:57 pm Reports that Harris will sign long term with Vikings. It will be interesting. We may have to part from Harris to get Williams or Griffen and to get both would absolutely have to part with him.fiestavike wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 8:24 amFWIW, Spielman is asked about how confident he is Harris will be on the roster to start the season in the virtual press conference you can see on vikings.com. Rumor has it? #Vikings working on an extension with Safety Anthony Harris to move him in the draft. The two teams that have shown the most interest are the #Browns and #Raiders #NFL #NFLDraft
(NFL Rumors on Twitter)
This sounds very likely to me.

Yeah, I can see that happening, I think Harris is going to Browns since they are in desperate need for a safety and then Vikings draft Winfield to replace HarrisVikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 2:11 pm This posted by a friend over on Talk Vikes.

Re: Vikings put franchise tag on Harris!!
One HUGE problem with trading Harris to the Browns. They are considered our top competition for Williams and making this trade with us would help us beat them out for Williams.RandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 2:35 pmYeah, I can see that happening, I think Harris is going to Browns since they are in desperate need for a safety and then Vikings draft Winfield to replace HarrisVikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 2:11 pm This posted by a friend over on Talk Vikes.

Will be interesting to see if the Browns get a chance at Wirfs what they do.
We have so many needs I really don't know what to expect. Also it's going to be interesting to see who might drop to us.

Re: Vikings put franchise tag on Harris!!
Interesting thought here. Maybe we have a three team trade in the works. Harris to the browns, Williams to us and picks to Washington. Browns get their safety and draft a top LT with their 1st pick in draft. We get our LT and then grab a safety (Winfield?) with one of our two 1st rounders. And Washington gets rid of Williams and some draft capital in return. Seems like a win for all involved.VikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 3:58 pmOne HUGE problem with trading Harris to the Browns.
