Rumor has it we’re looking to trade up. Everyone is counting out Jeudy and Lamb. They aren’t falling to 22 but we can definitely get them on a trade up. If we trade up for lamb, I’ll run naked down my street
I would be so happy if Vikings trade up to get Lamb

I would too. He's a special player, so if he were to slide past 10, I'd be in favor of moving up for him. But this year is super deep at WR and there's some seriously talented athletes that will go in the first 3-4 rounds. I hope we draft two, honestly, but we also have to devote at least one pick to OL, DL and CB.

I like a lot of the talent from the Big 12, the conference I'm most familiar with: Lamb, Reagor, Mims, Duvernay, C. Johnson. My main concern is whether these guys are developed enough with football intelligence and experience running a great variety of routes.

The guys from USC, Colorado, and Notre Dame look super interesting too, and of course those SEC boys (Jeudy, Ruggs, and Jefferson).

By the way, upthread y'all were taking someone to task for saying that Rick likes Golden Domers. The truth is, he does and he has even said so publicly, to the point that articles in the mid-2010s would say things like this:
Maybe it’s too obvious, given Spielman’s known fondness for Fighting Irish players, but Watt seems to have “Rick Spielman pick” written all over him.

Lamb is the one that I want, but it depends on the cost. If it's our 25 and second round pick I could live with that. If it's our 22 2nd and 3rd I couldn't.
You would live with it if Vikings gave up #22, 2nd and 3rd picks and Lamb ends up being one of the greatest Vikings ever and goes into the Hall of Fame
Probably would LOL. It could happen. Odds are it doesn't.

Sorry Randy, but it's so unreasonable to say that. It depends on what it costs us. If it's all 12 of our picks and Thielen I sure hope you would not be happy about that.

Lamb is pretty NFL ready. Baker, Murray, and Hurts do nothing but praise Lamb. Ruggs too is so fast but also has legit catch skills and route running. A healthy and a little bigger version of Hollywood Brown. Jeudy should be good to go also.
I like a bunch of others, but not sure just how NFL ready they are. Been burned too many times in the past with guys. I would love Lamb but even more so Ruggs because of his top end speed. I love how KC has speed everywhere on the field. We don't have that guy with Diggs gone.

I feel if we wait on a WR or 2, we end up with some really good talent, but just how NFL ready? We go into a really big season with Thielen and ???
We could probably have our pick at 22 pr 25 of Tee Higgins, Justin Jefferson, and to me then a drop off.
To me, trade up to get Lamb or Ruggs.

the one thing I REALLY hope they don't do is to FORCE a way to replace Diggs. Troy Williamson

I was ok with the trade because Diggs was causing problems but MOSTLY because the Vikes are such a run heavy O!!!!

Sit back and let the draft fall in place.......DO NOT FORCE A PICK FOR NEED!!!!!!!!!!!h

But if you do not have the threat at WR, the running game struggles immensely. To me, Lamb and especially Ruggs, give us a dynamic pair with Thielen. Adding a guy later also like a KJ Hamler, Chase Clypool, Donovan People's Jones, Devin Duvernay gives us a potentially scary 3 WR set

I could see it happening if Vikings are the Saints who traded their draft picks for Ricky Williams  but yeah, I would not be happy about that since Vikings have many holes to fill

Just in case Vikings do not trade up, I would be okay with the wide receiver from LSU, I forgot his name, drafting players from a championship team is not a bad thing

I agree we need to replace the production we lost by trading Diggs, but if we don't vastly improve our O line it won't matter who we draft at WR.

That's more like it. Let's just say you like the idea of trading up for Lamb if it's within reason.

Justin Jefferson is a good one.

Yes I agree the offensive line needs improving, but Diggs put up great numbers with the O Line we had last year.

Lamb and Jeudy are in their own elite category. Granted the draft is deep at WR but those two make guys like Mims, Higgins and so on look average.

As for whoever mentioned Williamson, this isn’t even close to the same thing. Williams wasn’t even a polished WR and we took him inside the top 10. Lamb and Jeudy are as polished as they come and we’re talking about trading up for one of them in the 10th-14th range.

When ranking I would say:

Elite

1a.) Lamb
1b.) Jeudy

Very Good

3.) Ruggs
4.) Jefferson

Solid

5.) Higgins
6.) Mims
7.) Shenault
8.) Reagor
9.) Aiyuk
10.) Claypool

My worries with the guys outside of the elite category:

Shenault reminds me too much of Patterson and more of a gadget guy.

Others that would play the slot like Ruggs, Jefferson and Reagor have me guessing given that Thielen operates mostly out of the slot.

Mims worries me given the offense he’s coming out of.

Higgins makes me wonder if he’s too one dimensional

I’ve seen rumblings that Claypool could be a TE.

Aiyuk was somewhat of a one year wonder

My concerns with Lamb and Jeudy:

None....

This is why I’m so adamant about trading up for one of those two. Granted the front office will know much more about who fits their scheme well and such. It’s just outside of lamb and Jeudy there are a lot of question makes. A ton of great potential but they also carry some risk. Jeudy and Lamb carry no risk IMO
