We will see how he fares with Allen this coming season. I'm confident that whether he gets 600 yards or 1600 yards his efficiency will go down.
Yes, it'll be interesting to see how he does on the bills, but its really and truly beside the point.
I'm mildly vindictive towards Diggs. I do derive some pleasure that he was traded to a run first team with a so far horrible QB who might get better. I just don't appreciate people who sign contracts for many millions of dollars and then want to weasel their way out of those contracts.

You have to remember that teams break those contracts all the time and the players have very little power.

The Viking essentially "weaseled" out of Joseph's and Rhodes' contracts because they weren't living up to their contracts.

I do like that teams can do that since I have seen what fully guaranteed contracts have done to the NBA, but I also understand a player being upset that they are outperforming their deal and can't get a raise.

Also, regarding Diggs, has anyone heard that any of it had to do with money? I have not.

NFL players are well paid compared to us normal people, so it's hard to feel sorry for any of them, but you are correct that they are at a major disadvantage compared to the owners. If I was good enough to play in NFL, I would want to get the best deal I could too. It's a very small window of opportunity for most players.

The Vikings didn't weasel out. They paid the signing bonus and after that it was a year by year basis that they had the right according to the contract to terminate. No weaseling. The players protection is the guaranteed money. If they want to get all the money they just need to play well.

For whatever reason(s) Diggs wanted out, and they got as good a haul as they could possibly have hoped for in return. What comes next?

I mean, he's a young guy who will be at least WR 4 and hopefully competing to be WR2 or 3. I don't think he's meant to "replace" Diggs.

Anyhow, what I meant by 'what comes next' is, let's talk about how to make the best of the reality currently facing this team.

Yeah I knew what you meant, but I couldn't resist. What's next is getting 1 great and 1 good WR from this years draft. With the abundance of picks we have we should be able to do that.

Do you have any favorites in this draft, other than the 3 who are locks to go before 22?

I've barely started looking into it and I assume you mean Lamb, Jeudy and Ruggs will be gone. Right now I wouldn't hate Justin Jefferson in the first or 2nd and Chase Claypool in the 2nd or 3rd. I'd actually be thrilled if it was 2nd and 3rd on those 2. Wouldn't mind Tyler Johnson either.

This was posted by a guy on the talk Vikes board. I don't know where he got it from, but it should put to rest the idea that Diggs wanted out because he doesn't like playing with Cousins.

Sorry if this has been posted already.

Early last season, it was clear that Stefon Diggs wasn’t happy with the Minnesota Vikings.
The Vikings were struggling, Diggs strangely wasn’t at practice, he reportedly wanted to be traded and Diggs himself didn’t deny it. Then the Vikings offense got hot and everyone seemed to forget any of Diggs’ gripes.
It was resolved in the offseason when the Vikings traded Diggs to the Buffalo Bills. We’ll probably never find out exactly what happened during Diggs’ September of discontent, but he went out of his way to say he had nothing but respect for Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins.
If people thought there was some issue between Diggs and Cousins, Diggs praised Cousins in a first-person story for The Players’ Tribune.
Diggs said Cousins was one of the first people to reach out after he was traded.
“Kirk was one of the first guys to text me,” Diggs wrote. “He was super appreciative of the time we spent together over the last couple of years, and he was just as encouraging, wishing me the best of luck in Buffalo. And it’s like … what do I even say about Kirk? This is a man who has invited me into his home. Introduced me to his family. Put in the extra hours with us. He’s a guy who, through all the ups and downs over the last couple of years, I’ve developed a tremendous amount of appreciation and respect for. I’m definitely going to miss playing with and learning from him.”
Diggs also had great things to say about former teammate Adam Thielen (“He’s a guy I hold dear to my heart, and I’m damn sure gonna miss him.”) and the fans and city of Minnesota.
Diggs expressed excitement about playing for the Bills, and specifically quarterback Josh Allen. He said he remembers the upset the Bills got over the Vikings in 2018, Allen’s rookie year, and he was impressed.
Like plenty of others, Diggs is excited about the potential of the rising Bills this season.
“I mean, honestly, if you look at this Bills team — if you look at it RIGHT NOW, in 2020? I think it’s a team that’s ready to be great,” Diggs wrote.
The addition of Diggs is a big one for the Bills, even though they gave up a lot of draft picks to get it done. Diggs is excited, although it sounds like he’ll remember his time with the Vikings fondly.

It is just as dumb as fans thinking he only wanted to be traded because he "wanted to be the man" or because he was upset about the coaching.

We don't know why. We speculate, and try to read into his actions, but none of us know for sure why he wanted out.
