Wasn’t sure where to post this but thought it was a pretty interesting story. These untold NFL stories are pretty fun to watch. I can’t remember did he ever get nailed for smoking weed during his career or did the nfl completely miss that?

Thanks for this post. Harvin was a lighting bolt. He could split the center almost easy. Watching Farve throw to him was fun to see again. Man that Farve could throw any type of pass. From a short dump off to a screamer down the center. The play that turned 2009 season around was the last play strike to the back of the end zone for the game winner. Boy that was a long time ago. 2009 was a great year for us. That was a tough loss to the Saints. That OL had some dam good players. It was loaded.

The Percy interview was big in Seattle this week too...The weed stuff was hardly even mentioned, maybe cause that ain't no thing here, but more so the incident before the Super Bowl for Seattle against Denver and him cold clocking Golden Tate before picture day for that game. Cliff Avril was on the team at that time and is now a radio personality and added his account, which pretty much said, Percy got him good, it wasn't a cheap shot and after the punch, they scuffled and it ended with Percy trashing Tate...literally dropping him in a trash can.
Glad to see Percy is in a better space now. One of the most talented guys out there, but too many things going on to fully realize that potential.

Re: Percy Harvin was high in every game he played
I loved Percy when he was with us. Kid was an amazing talent and a definite playmaker. I remember the clip of Favre when he was mic'd up and he threw a pass to Percy and Percy made an amazing RAC , Favre was trotting downfield with I believe McKinnie and he said , about Harvin, " He's good....He's REAL Good". I also remember when he and Childress got into it and my the witness accounts he supposedly had to be held back from decking Childress.
The weed thing followed Percy from college.
Actually maybe the best thing for the Vikes right now would be for Percy to be invited in to speak to the organization, bring in about a 1/4 lb. of his finest stash and just have the whole organization pass a bong around and everyone take a few tokes and then maybe build some team chemistry .

Re: Percy Harvin was high in every game he played
What a click-bait headline. Of course, Harvin himself gave them that headline, but the media makes this out to be something terrible when it's probably not.
First, let me be clear ... I have to confess that when Harvin was drafted and there were reports of him using in college, I was very judgmental. But I've since changed my tune.
Pain is a crappy thing, especially for an athlete. I play a lot of golf, and at a pretty high level for an amateur. But I have a lot of back pain, related to a compression fracture I suffered about 15 years ago. There are days it makes it really tough to play well. Once that vertebra had has been compressed, it never returns to form. Even though the injury has long since healed, the muscles around that particular vertebra still get very painful as the day wears on, and it can be very difficult to get relief. One of the hardest things to do, believe it or not, is to practice putting. When you are in a putting stance for a long time, the back can start hurting, even for people with no injuries. When you can't practice putting, it's pretty tough to score.
A few months ago, I began taking CBD (Cannabidiol) oil, which is a marijuana-derived product. It doesn't have TCH in it, so it doesn't make you high, but the cannabis is believed to have many benefits. It's believed to be a natural anti-inflammatory that really works well. It is also believed to help balance serotonin and melatonin levels in the body, which can help with neurological disorders such as migraines. You guys may have seen that Rob Gronkowski is now one of the top spokespeople for the CBD industry.
In my case, the CBD oil has truly helped. I have a lot fewer days where the pain isn't manageable. I'm even sleeping better. It has certainly helped my golf game. I'm on a low dose right now, but I'm ready to move up a level.
Now that I understand the benefits of cannabis, I can totally understand why Harvin would smoke pot if he was suffering from migraines. It's a lot less nefarious than it sounds, given his condition.

He's looking for a click as you stated. I'm no expert but this playing high could probably be applied to many players. It could be caused by many different substances. Brady could be playing high for all we know. Regardless I'm glad for you that something has helped. I'm no pot fan but IMO I don't see what the big deal is. You go to Europe and they will walk around smoking it. Nobody cares. Here it's different.J. Kapp 11 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2019 8:21 am What a click-bait headline. To be clear, CBD isn't pot. It's derived from marijuana, but it doesn't contain THC, which is what makes you high. And it's legal in far more states than pot is.CharVike wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2019 12:25 pmHe's looking for a click as you stated. I'm not an advocate of recreational use of marijuana, nor do I use it myself, although I honestly don't care that much. However, I do see the medical benefits.

Go ahead. I dare you.

Good on you man! Too many people double-down on their original opinion and it's usually a sad state.J. Kapp 11 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2019 8:21 am First, let me be clear ... My response to this article was... duh, I'm sure lots of guys do this and I'm glad they do. They put their bodies on the line every week and take nasty hits not only on Sunday but in practice too. Do whatever you need to to recover.

Re: Percy Harvin was high in every game he played
I'm sure many of you have read the story Chris Long wrote about use smoking weed during the season during the week and especially after the games to chill out and control pain. Trust me, I have it in good authority that it is very commonplace , as is the use , should I say abuse of opioids, Vicodin, Percocet, Oxycodone etc throughout the league..and he said ppl would be shocked if they knew the big name players who do smoke of use edibles.
I'll be honest I smoked alot 30 yrs ago for a few years, college years, but our top shelf herb was ditch weed to the strains available now. I myself dont anymore, but I think it is a much safe alternative than becoming dependent on narcotic pain meds. And it's been proven to be help manage the pain in cancer patients and help increase their appetites. So I honestly will not condemn it. He also said that the league testing is a farce. They only bust a small % and they look harder for PRDs than weed .
If it helps manage their pain I say Smoke em if they got em. They are superb athletes who know their bodies.

Kapp, glad that it's helping you, just make sure you're buying from reputable sources. CBD is unregulated and they're finding all sorts of nasty stuff companies are adding to it. Mainly stuff that comes out of China. Also, CBD can have trace amounts of THC, not enough to get you high but you could potentially fail a drug test. If you want to be sure there's no THC, make sure it says CBD isolate. Maybe you're aware of all of this, just wanted to throw that out there.J.
