Wow what is Gruden doing ???? $50 million and $30million guaranteed for a 31 year old headache?
He was too cheap to sign Mack (and now we have to face him twice per year) and too cheap to sign Cooper - both young and dynamic players- and then shells out that much cash for Brown
Amazing
He traded 3rd and a 5th for the only player available who could instantly upgrade his offense.
This after trading away a good, but not nearly as good of a wr in Cooper for a 1st. Great move by the Raiders
Weird that the Vikings have done so little in preparation for FAs.
I would think if they were going to make any moves, someone would have been cut or reworked by now. Sendejo and Remmers still being on this team is troubling.

I mean they didn’t have to give up much but the cap hit is crazy and if he’s not getting the ball like he thinks he should, he’s going to be a giant problem. Players go to Oakland to ruin their careers

It’s the same thing every year. Spielman always waits until the week of to make moves. I remember when we resigned loadholt, it was literally announced 20 minutes before FA opened. He always waits. Moves will happen before Wednesday. The negotiation period starts tomorrow. It gives us a better idea of where the market of some of our in house guys will be

I am talking about the cuts more than re-signings. Waiting to cut a guy until after teams have spent all their cap shouldn't be something the Vikings do to guys like Griffen and Sendejo.

exactly it's not the 3rd and the 5th it's the $30M guaranteed and the fact that he's 31!! are the Raiders really on the verge of contending?
OK I get it they are moving to Vegas in a year and they want jerseys to sell, season tickets to sell, etc......but then why didn't they just keep the best Defensive player in the NFL??

There are rumors Davis literally couldn't afford that big of a contract. Not from a cap standpoint, but he didn't have enough cash on hand.

My guess is they did have to or Brown wasn't going to show up to play for them.
Kyle Rudolph's agent, Brian Murphy, told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that Rudolph will "not only be on the team this year, but hopefully for years to come."
"Despite rumors, Vikings are not in negotiations with Kyle Rudolph, have not asked him to take a pay reduction and have told us explicitly that Rudy will not only be on the team this year, but hopefully for years to come," Murphy confidently stated. Rudolph is set to make $7.625 million in 2019 (the final year of his contract), and it had been rumored the team would try and get out from that number given that they head to free agency with only $4.94 million in cap space. As it stands, the 29-year-old team captain will play one more year with Kirk Cousins under center.

The Athletic's Connor Hughes reports the Lions are "considered the favorite" to sign free agent Anthony Barr.
Hughes adds the Jets are "very, very high" on Barr as well, and the Vikings are also still in the mix to keep him. The pass-rusher market is devoid of game-changing talent at the top after all the franchise tags, so there's a real chance Barr gets a serious pay day. Barr was a sack master at UCLA but wasn't used that way in Minnesota as an off-ball linebacker. The Jets and Lions are likely looking at Barr to rush the quarterback more than he was allowed to with the Vikings.

I’ve always thought he was misused as a traditional 4-3 OLB. If he does land with the Lions or Jets and is used more as a pass rusher it will be interesting to see how he performs.

The Vikings also just declined picking up Sendejo's option which makes him a FA. Signs point to them resigning Harris which is good
