Have the Vikings trailed by 17 all year?

The problem with not having a legit QB is a team can’t make a comeback with him when the defense plays poorly

face it guys, it's over. The next two hours will go over a little better if you do. We've seen this too many times to have a fantasy of winning now. Not a prayer of a chance. we can't block, can't run, can't pass, can't cover anybody. We look so sorry I'm glad I'm not out in public with a Viking jersey on. It would be embarrassing.

Nope. 14-3 was biggest deficit. Pittsburgh game.

Need to stop them on the first possession and then score 7 immediately.

With a quick TD, we are back in the hunt. :ripple:

That opening drive was a great start but it's been sloppy football and questionable coaching since then. It's really disappointing to see so many missed tackles and blown coverages from the Vikes defense but the killer moment for me was that stupid protection call on the Keenum fumble. What are they thinking asking Morgan to come across the backfield and block a DE in that situation? That's a very tough play for a TE to make and down by 7, with the ball around the opponent's 20 yard line, is no time to get "clever" like that.

Maybe the Saints should have advanced because our Vikings are choking tonight. :( I credit the Eagles for playing well but we know the Vikes are capable of playing smarter, more fundamentally sound football than this.

They have 30 minutes to win this game. They're going to have play great but it's still within reach.
They are getting terribly outcoached and it is embarrassing. If I were Zimmer I'd yell at the coaches as much as the players.

Case doesn't play defense, and he needs to have his blind side protected. He got us to this game. Have a little faith in the guy.

Yeah, I don't see Case as the problem so far. Poor pass protection (which led to both turnovers), overly predictable playcalling and way too many breakdowns on defense are the biggest problems.

Whats Case done that you want him to stay in? He cant throw the long ball like Sam, thats why we keep trying to run and throw the ball for a foot. It isnt working now, lets see what Sams made of.

Take away the 10 points from turnovers and they'd be down a score. It will take a hell of a 2nd half but not impossible.

Two things disgust me about this game so far:

- Vikings offense is taking no deep shots. Nothing over the top even attempted save the wide open TD to Rudolph. I know Case is under pressure but this is for a chance to play in the Superbowl. You don't get there without risking something.

- Defense is being beaten over and over and over by the same freakin plays run over and over and over. No adjustments. No sign of intelligence or recognition. They're letting the Eagles just beat them with rote play after rote play and insanely easy completions to wide open receivers.

The Eagles are just the better team so far. By quite a bit. If the Vikes are going to get back into this they need to wake up, and even that might not be enough at this point.

Whoever said this reminds them of the 2001 NFC Championship game, that's in my head too at this point.

After that play with the TE blocking the blindside by himself Shurmur may be staying.
