I agree, I don't like him. Would much rather have Perine or Hunt or Mixon. Perine is such a bowling ball I love that about him, everything I have watched I don't think he ever goes backwards when he is hit, he also seems to be a good blocker and pass catcher.Texas Vike wrote: There's something about Kamara that I don't like. Is it that he reminds me of Patterson? Is it his limited production? Is it that I doubt he can be an every down back in the NFL?
Combo? I don't know.

IDK I don't want him. He is 31 years old, he had one anomaly of a year... granted he didn't have much of a team around him. 31 years old though....dead_poet wrote:Cleveland released Barnidge. If I'm Rick, I look hard at him on a short-term deal.

I agree about Perine. He's a beast. I watch a lot of Big 12 ball, so I've had my eye on him for years. I would love it if we could somehow land him in the 3rd. I fear he'll be chosen somewhere between our picks 48 and 79 though.

On the goaline he is a beast. Would be a nice complement to our backfield.Texas Vike wrote:

That 6.2 yd/ave was behind a mediocre OL at TN. His receiving skills are such that if he had a different body type he could be playing WR. Certainly can't say that about Cook. If he's able to do blitz pick-up he should be a 3 down back. 23 TDs on 284 downs is pretty good production.
He only had 210 career rushing attempts but another way to look at that is there is more tread left on the tire.
Having said all that ... in the end it it's all one big crapshoot.

I just want them to make a pick. I'm worried they'll get a trade partner and accumulate even more picks.fiestavike wrote:Who do you most NOT want to see GB select with the first pick in the 2nd round?

I wouldn't take Perine until the 5th round. He's a thumper who lacks speed and that lack of speed will get exposed at the next level.

He seems pretty fast to me. Just as fast as Marshawn Lynch, Lacy, Derrick Henry etc.... I don't think he lacks speed at all.Pseudo Everything wrote:I wouldn't take Perine until the 5th round. He's a thumper who lacks speed and that lack of speed will get exposed at the next level.

Re: 2017 draft thread
Pelissero reporting Sheldon Richardson can be had for a mid-rounder. Something to think about with our sudden need at DT. That kinda feels like a steal, though he comes with a few issues and a contract need.

Lynch ran a 4.46 at the 2007 combine. Henry (at 247 lbs) ran a 4.54 at the combine. Lacy ran a 4.57 at his pro day.Norv Zimmer wrote: He seems pretty fast to me. Just as fast as Marshawn Lynch, Lacy, Derrick Henry etc.... I don't think he lacks speed at all.
Perine ran 4.65.

Interesting. Would probably mean not keeping Bradford next year though.dead_poet wrote:Pelissero reporting Sheldon Richardson can be had for a mid-rounder. Something to think about with our sudden need at DT. That kinda feels like a steal, though he comes with a few issues and a contract need.

Re: 2017 draft thread
Not sure. Possibly. Rhodes needs a new deal but they'll probably be in decent shape, financially. Would be interesting to "rent" him for the year then make a decision on him or Floyd next off-season. Give Floyd a year like what's probably going to happen with Teddy this season to see if he can come back.fiestavike wrote: Interesting. Would probably mean not keeping Bradford next year though.
