What's the least you would take for Patterson?

Post by fiestavike »

If the Vikings should move Patterson, what would you want in return?

I'm intrigued by the idea of exchanging him for another player whose option wasn't picked up, like Chance Warmack in TN, sending Patterson to an AFC team in the state he played college ball, on a team with a mobile QB and a power running game. Of course, that type of player for player trade almost never happens.

I just wonder what the overall take of the board is on this question...

I voted a fourth but realistically a 5th is probably the lowest.

5th rounder. To me he makes a lot of bone head errors in the limited time we create for him to touch the ball on kick offs and trick plays. I would absolutely move him for any perceived value.

I think he ends up let go next year, so any compensation we get would be a bonus.

I put 6th rounder but really I could care less. We have other players that can return kicks, and with the changes to kickoffs it will be interesting to see how that all shapes out.

But one thing I have always thought and never understood about Patterson is how come they don't line him up at running back more? Remember that game against st Louis to start the year 2 years ago? He had over 100 yards rushing, then they just stopped having him run the ball.

I said 4th since you can find quality starters in that round. It gets a lot harder after that. Anything lower I would keep him and see if he can turn things around.

I would take anything I could get, if I were you guys.

He is not going to be with you next year anyways, imo.

I voted 5th rounder as I think he still has value in the return game, but it wouldn't surprise me if he is on the roster bubble & if that's the case, then 6th/7th or flat out cut wouldn't really surprise me either.

Even if he's not here next year and his production doesn't improve, he still might be good for a TD kick return or two. Or some solid field position. That can be a game changer and probably not what you would get out of a late round pick that would probably struggle to make the team.

His return abilities alone could sway a win or two and that alone makes him worth not taking anything you can get.
