What a luxurious problem to have! After last season, I find it impossible to imagine that coming to fruition!

Ha! Truth. But not all the guys we have on the roster will make the 53.

Source says #Vikings continue to talk with Terence Newman's camp about re-signing, and, yes, he wants to re-sign.

No.
#Vikings to bring in Cincinnati right tackle Andre Smith for free-agent visit on Sunday.

what's your issue with smith? this past year was a down year for him, but from 2009-2014 he has been a solid right tackle. he's probably a better option than loadholt or clemmings at this point.

I'd disagree. He's been quite bad for two straight years and was one of the worst RTs in the league last year. I'd much rather have Loadholt, who was still ascending prior to his injury.

Agreed.

Someone may need to remind Zimmer the Bengals haven't won a playoff game in about 25 years. I know coaches like players with whom they're familiar but the Vikes interest in former Bengals players is becoming excessive. That's not the franchise the Vikes should be emulating.

I really hope Greenway and Newman will be Vikings this season. I hope they dont get higher offers from some of the teams more desperate then us. I have been an idiot sometimes about Greenway, but if he is playing, I hope its as a Vike. He proved last year, theres still gas left in the tank. And IMO, Newman could play 2 backup positions, if needed. Or he could start as CB if we were desperate. Esp. With good safeties. We have one, we still need that 2nd.

when was loadholt ascending? he hasn't played a game since 2014. smith and loadholt are actually very comparable in terms of production and i don't see an issue with signing smith and having them compete.

Not sure you've been an idiot. He wasn't able to keep things inside last year, he struggled in coverage. There are better options on the roster, much less in free agency and the draft. The team is better if he isn't a vike...

It was widely reported Phil may have been having the best camp of any Viking last year. He was poised for a strong season.

Smith hasn't been a beacon of health. He's been on IR and/or injured with multiple concussions, a knee injury and triceps injury in the last couple of seasons. I just feel like Phil is the better player, plus we have Harris, who can play RT adequately. Plus Clemmings, whom I doubt the team would give up on after just one year and whose growth may be slowed with Smith's addition. If they sign him, that's fine but my opinion of him is pretty low given his recent performance.

Vikings re-signed CB Marcus Sherels on a two-year contract.

This makes me happy. Possibly a top 5 punt returner and there are worse backup corners.

The Bengals are perrenial playoff contenders and boast a young roster with the second best adjusted cap numbers in the NFL amongst playoff teams, 9th amongst the entire league.

They haven't put it together in the playoffs yet but that is exactly what you want from an NFL organisation otherwise.
