But you're missing my point with all of this. Let's not fool ourselves, Boone was signed to play LG. Harris at this point is more of a sure thing at RG than Fusco. And here is why..... Nobody knows if the reason Fusco was so bad this year was due to his switch to RG or he never recovered fully from the injury. That seriously scares me. Because if we throw him on the right side "in hopes" of him to return to previous form and he flops, we seriously screwed up by letting Harris walk because we were cheap and lowballed him. This past year for Harris was just as good as Fusco's one good year. Harris didn't show us anywhere close to a terrible season. Fusco just did. We are really gambling on Fusco being good again. It could truly come back to haunt us. Which is why I wish they would've just retained Harris[/quote]

If Harris returns, you would have great competition at nearly every spot outside Boone and Kalil. Line looking much better on paper.
Also Boone is a big boy with a nasty additude...Zimmers kind of guy. Was quoted the other season saying he would like to punch Clay Mathews .
The other season he did have a MCL tear he got fixed after the season .

#Vikings are taking a look at WR Andre Holmes, who was with them as an UDFA in 2011. Would give them a big target.

Former Lions linebacker Travis Lewis has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Vikings. @NFLonFOX
Had some spot starts for Detroit last year. More of a special teamer

I understand your point and I'm not against re-signing Harris, I just don't see it as a particularly essential move and it seems more like a step to maintain mediocrity than an effort to improve. I want to see more of an effort to improve.

Harris competing for a job vs. Fusco could yield improvement. Competition can really light a fire instead of both being handed a starting spot by default.

Throw a rookie in that competition as well, for that matter.

6'8" Alex Boone
6'7" Matt Khalil
6'8" Phil Loadholt
6'1" Teddy Bridgewater

Knowing how much AD does not like running from the Shotgun formation. Teddy is going to have a hard time seeing over those trees when he has to do some 3 & 5 step drops.

I will cross my fingers and hope this move works out.

Teddy is supposed to be working on his release, getting it higher. Hopefully we'll see less batted passes this year.

Wow I didn't realize Boone is 6'8" that's really tall for a guard.

Teddy can always utilize the jump pass :gone:
