@GoesslingESPN Norv Turner confirmed what we reported last night: that Phil Loadholt will need season-ending surgery.

@mattvensel #Vikings rookie tight end MyCole Pruitt left Saturday night's game with a sprained ankle, but he's expected to be fine, a source said.

Re: 2015 Vikings Injury Thread
the tendon ruptures are far more common when athletes are "juicing". The non-physiologic jump in muscle mass/Strength coupled with the weakening effect that some steroids have on tendons greatly increases the chance of rupture. It is no certain thing but the frequency of these injuries began skyrocketing in football and baseball when the juicing era started.

As much as I like Phill, he is a great run blocker but I have seen him getting "blown up" too many times in his pass protection.
I like the potential that Clemmings brings and this could be a blessing in disguise.

So you are intimating that Loadholt may have been "juicing"chicagopurple wrote:the tendon ruptures are far more common when athletes are "juicing". Re: 2015 Vikings Injury Thread
as I said in my post, "ïts no certain thing", but these injuries have sky-rocketed with the advent of juicing. PEDs are rampant, and the outcomes are that abnormally Huge players are the norm now, and we see alot more of these sort of injuries occuring with no mechanical trauma. Oh, and spraining an ankle will NOT lead to an Achilles Rupture.....

Re: 2015 Vikings Injury Thread
I did not mention a sprain but did say he might have twisted his ankle and yes doctor, a severely twisted ankle can and sometimes does cause a rupture to that tendon. We had 2 players on my college team tear their Achilles by severley twisting their ankles.chicagopurple wrote:as I said in my post, "ïts no certain thing", but these injuries have sky-rocketed with the advent of juicing. "Frequently, this is a sports injury as the heel forcibly extends. Severe stress and tension is placed on the stretched Achilles tendon. A rip, pop, or tear is felt or even heard. The victim can walk but limps noticeably as the foot drags. The diagnosis is easily made on the field, court, or in the office. A gap can be felt in the tendon and ankle motion is compromised".

Re: 2015 Vikings Injury Thread
LOLOL you are a laughing stock if you are in denial of the massive abuse of PEDs in college and Pro football. Even in High School athletes (for whom I AM a doctor) we are seeing the use of PEDs. An "änkle Sprain" would have to be a very severe flexion and would tear or partially tear MANY other tendons and ligaments in the foot, NOT just rupture an achilles.....
